Idk if this has been addressed before but I personally think L should’ve just gone hamlet on Light’s ass. Allow me to illustrate:
Matsuda: Why did Ruyzaki call us in here? And when did he install a stage in the conference room?
Soichiro: He said he’s gonna perform a play that will help with the Kira investigation.
[enters L, he’s wearing a brownish-blond wig, khaki pants, and a turtleneck sweater]
L: Good evening. I am here to open your eyes to what’s been right in front of you this whole time.
(A loud sigh rises from the audience. Tis Light.)
L: Act one, scene one: I, Light Yagami, start killing people. All I need is a face and a name.
Light: Ryuzaki, this is ridiculous, get off that stage I’m begging you.
L: Sometimes small sacrifices have to be made in order to achieve the truth. And please don’t make me break the fourth wall again.
[5 hours later, act 4: L just finished his 7th musical number wearing a long blond wig and goth clothes]
Light: That’s it. I’m getting out of here.
Misa: No, wait! He’s finally wearing a nice outfit! And besides I wanna know what happens next.
