I actually had the chance to talk to Ryan himself on instagram DMs about today’s problem. He reached out to me by his own after I left a comment saying it’s not that funny to joke about these things, and directly asked about it, like genuinely asked what was wrong.
We talked a bit about the issue, cleared some things up (starting for the fact that, in spite what you hateful people made this out to be, I was not angry at him) and agreed on how it’s not okay to do these jokes, and also boy talked about how he loves his heritage and would never. We also talked about the heads issue, too.
Things are excellent now and I feel 100% better knowing that Ryan not only genuinely cares but is grateful someone reached out to him to call him out (in spite of how things went on the comments), and that I had the chance to talk to him like an adult. It really felt wonderful to have this convo with this person I admire so much and that turned out to be exactly the kind of good man I thought he is.
The conversation is long, there are things I’m keeping with me forever, but something that I do want to share is that we have the same motto and that made my night:
Because that’s what it is about, folks. We should really try to do our best and listen when people is calling us out, just like Ryan, who forever has my heart and admiration, did.
So thanks to you, Ryan, for reading and understanding, caring enough to decide DM this lil mexican girl you don’t even known, and for showing me that fans can talk all the shit they want, you are a good man in spite of the hateful people on the internet.
