It’s Time
Sunday is the marathon. It’s been three weeks since my last long run. I’m starting to have the normal “taper panic” that comes with a road marathon for me. My calf decided to throw a wrench in the works two weeks ago. I’ve been rolling it without fail since then and it’s feeling better, but this is one issue that I won’t know my response to treatment until go time.
I had a decent training cycle, minus shorter runs. My weeks were basically summed up solely by my long run each week. I did reach 20, 19, 18, 17, and 16 in the run up to the race, but I did not have any 3, 4, or 5’s for the last month or so.
I know I’m capable of the distance. It’s the time I’m not sure of. Ive adjusted my goals accordingly:
1) Help Janet’s dad enjoy his first road marathon experience
2) Finish and be happy I completed #8
3) Enjoy the race and atmosphere
4) Sub 4:00
5) Sub 3:30
