Reason why you follow them: I followed them through a mutual friend who interacts with them.
A roleplayer you enjoy their interactions with: wasacoyote
A thing you like about their character: He seems to be a sweetheart and an interesting character.
Do you interact? Why/why not? No we don’t. Not yet, anyway. Just because I’m a lazy ass XD

We should… Talk OOC / Plot / Roleplay / Became bffs.
He had been there for an hour, the big male creature - just sitting, and watching. Mary was not sure if he could see her through the murky water of her new tank; she doubted it, her own hazel eyes bright but barely able to see through the haze of the warm salt water. He had been there when the 'BPRD' had carried her in, her legs embarrassingly weak outside of the safety of water, and he had not left since. Tail shimmering in the dim light from above, it gave a daring flick as she at last emerged from behind the coral to approach the glass and her observer. --- "Uh - hello?"

Night shifts were always Aedan's favourite. Yes, his duties were more or less the same during the day, but the whole complex was a lot quieter and calmer now, making his work easier. He only had to check the state of the creatures from labs fifteen to twenty and top up the IVs for the creatures in quarantine, but doing so whilst there were hustling and bustling scientists running about the place was always more stressful than it needed to be. Yes; the quiet night shifts were always more favourable.
As usual, whilst filling out the paperwork and checking the water levels and temperatures of each cage, he made sure to abstain from making eye contact with any of the beings in the cages, no matter how loudly they growled or whined or purred - or in some cases spoke - at him. He'd been taught that in his training; the less interaction given to them, the better. The idea was to isolate them after all, dehumanize them entirely. Minimal interaction. They were mere test subjects for a grander scheme of things. And he was okay with that. He could easily distance himself from his work-- but for one of the creatures. A shifter; subject 005, or Jitters, as the other staff liked to call it.
Aedan had initially come to work here thinking he would be working on ways to prevent the spread of supernatural creatures around the world - something he'd always felt passionately about - and it had started that way... before he'd accidentally walked in on an experiment one day. An endurance test of some sort, with the creature nicknamed Jitters. It had left the shifter in pain and dosed up to it's eyeballs on some sort of drug, Aedan could see that clearly. That night, whilst he filled out the paperwork, he did what he'd been taught not to do. He made eye contact with the creature. Spoke to it a little, engaged it with his attention, but it didn't reply. Of course, that wasn't surprising; Jitters hadn't spoken a word of English since arriving here apparently. But still, Aedan felt like it might have understood some of what he'd said to him, so he got into the habit of greeting it each time he was assigned to that area, and, soon enough, it had become a he to Aedan. He didn't expect the shifter to see him in any new light though; he was still the free one out of the two of them. He was the one with the plastic gloves, the needles, the clipboard, the power -- not Jitters.
This night was the same as every night; Aedan was doing his rounds in lab twenty, the final stop on his shift, and had just reached the shifter's unit. After recording the temperature of the cage, checking the weighing scales and refilling the water, Aedan hung the clipboard up on the wall where it belonged and knelt down to look at the creature.
"Evenin'," he murmured, peering through the titanium bars. He sat there for a while, hesitating on what he wanted to say before summoning his voice. "I heard there's gonna be some more experiments t'morrow. Yer gonna be used." He spoke formally, not exactly kindly, but the fact he was giving the shifter a warning was more than he ought to be doing. "I'll be back t'morrow evenin'. Just-- make sure y'drink plenty o' water before they come t'collect ye."
He stared at the sorrowful-looking shifter, uncomfortable at how much he worried for him, before finally composing himself and standing up to pull his gloves off. Without a glance behind him he turned off the lights and locked up, ready to go home after a long day.
