I’ve decided to suspend my series of post for just a moment to offer some commentary on the Notra Dame fire ... Fire is the element of change, transformation, Alchemy, resurrection and cleansing. It is surrender and sacrifice as well as daring - the willingness to create, to make a new. Notra Dame is a symbol of the Catholic Church and as such represents the Catholic Church which is under going right now a change and purge of sorts and so the fire is one that occurs symbolically - sympathetically - there too. Most of the relics, windows and statues were saved - miraculously - all of the good, all that reflects the Divine. Not the pictures though - memories of the past, ancient history, moments frozen in time - interpretations of truth. Not the steeple - another re creation - not the original but a copy, an interpretation - like the will and word of God warped by man over time. I believe this is a sign - a sign of reform or at least a genuine opportunity for it! I believe this is a chance to rebuild the Cathedral and the Church - a joint effort instigated, moderated and governed by man as well as priest. I believe it can be a new beginning - a catalytic wild fire of metamorphosis - the will of God - the will of the Divine.
