Rose took a long swig from her bottle before smiling a little bit. “Cry- Cries- Chryson...” She trailed off scrunching her face up as she thought. “All the Notts have funny names. But they’re all incredibly gorgeous.” She grinned before tilting her head. “If Atty hadn’t forbade me from fucking her brother I probably would have tried. You know if it wasn’t for his unfortunate engagement so early in our school years.”

The vast emptiness of space had never seemed oppressive to Adira when she saw safely on the ground, but after a few months with very few people to keep her company and now a broken radio back to Earth, she felt as if she was being punished for some reason. Her bottom lip trembled as she stared down at Earth, missing the breezes back home, and she found a trembling hand reach for her own. She squeezed it, looking up to find Chryson right beside her, and, for a moment, things seemed almost alright.

Adira gasped in faux-shock, the wine rising to her cheeks, coloring them a light rose. It was a good night, rare but true, and Chryson and she were drunk on cherry wine. The only light was the roaring fireplace beside them, illuminating the impish grin on his face and the twinkle in her own. She giggled softly as she reached for her glass, a soft smirk on her lips as she replied. “Get off of your high horse, Chryson. You’ve only really known me a few months, at best.” It quickly divulged into more chuckling, her own head falling onto his shoulder.

It had been a long night for Adira, pacing throughout rooms with her wand at the ready, a trembling mess for hours on end. The slightest bump would send her jumping, and, around 3 A.M., she’d made one last ditch effort to feel safe–owled Chryson. And he’d come. Apparated and found her shaking in the dining room. Had led her into the living room, away from where her parents had been murdered and where he could sit down with her. He was more than she honestly deserved, but he went an extra step farther.
