Okay, so something that has always bothered me about fandom opinion on Damon in The Vampire Dairies is that everyone always says he is the bad guy, or at least sort of is, but I feel like not once in the series (at least through season 7, that is where I am) was Damon every truly as bad as the times Stefan went bad. He goes about things the wrong way a lot but nothing he does makes him the bad guy (ok maybe when he tried to kill Lexie in the 70s) but other then in that instant, everything he does is to save/help someone her loves. Misguided and amoral I will take but Damon is definitely not “bad guy” material.

I haven’t done wrong by anyone in my life, the times I may have I always took the high road. I don’t make excuses or stories or justify my mistakes.
Yet I’m tired of being the bad guy while everyone plays victim. It’s bullshit. The lying, two faced, backstabbing and everything in between that you have done, that all you. Not me. Fuck you.
