I saw the mayor of my city!

(granted I didn't talk to him, but he saw me and heard me speak since I was presenting something)

I was talking about reading and how we need to make students read outside of school for fun - but I only got to say one sentence.

Woah congrats! That's amazing! I don't think I could even pick out my mayor from a line up 💀

Personally, I really struggle to read novels outside of school. I'm more of a non fiction person. I guess, does fanfic count? I can either read really mindless stuff or the most complicated history book about the formation of NASA and the space race. Nothing in between.

These past few weeks some orangey flowers started blooming all over the place. Only thing is they grew in the city street area and not wildly all over the place. So after weeks of asking people to bring me some flowers on their way to places - I decided to quickly walk an entire street away from my school, cross the road and grab a bunch of flowers, then dash back.

And after much investigative googling I found out they're called Gaillardia pulchella.

but... now my theorist senses are tingling beacause

they aren't native to where I live ignoring that introduced species exist

but hey, that's just a theory.

I had to google those flowers and they are so pretty. I've never seen them before so clearly we do not live anywhere close to each other lol.

The only thing I've seen lately are mosquitos and very sad looking jacaranda mulch.

It must really suck to be a high achieving teenager in Medina, Ohio, knowing you're forever compared to Mr. Jeopardy or Matpat by your high school teachers.
