♪ - How do you decide on your muse’s dialogue?
I bullshit it. A lot of Heinz’s speech patterns, where he pauses, what words he uses—a lot of them come from myself and listening to others. I do everything I can to make the guy’s speech seem natural. It took a while, though. God I remember the dark times where he used to speak like a robot and didn’t elide anything but we don’t talk about that ahaha fuck.
♕ - What are 5 writing tips you’d give to beginners?
Oh God I'm really not the sort of person you want to take advice from. But if I had to give some... hm...
Body language is great! Use it; more often than not, it speaks louder than words.
Try to be concise if you can. Some parts require a little more explanation and exposition that some, sure, but it's possible to go overboard with things. I'm guilty of it myself A* hypocrite
It's okay to take 8980934 years to reply. Please, don't rush it or force it! Life gets in the way of certain things, sometimes you only have the muse for certain threads or grow tired after replying to a handful. That's okay! Most partners are very understanding and patient (bar a few I've come across, heh.) But take all the time you need--it's always worth the wait.
Be sure to give your partner something they can work with. I guess I'm lucky in that my muse is very inquisitive and my replies end in open questions more often than not, but try to give somewhere for action or discussion to go. If not, dropping threads is totally okay too. It happens, RPing isn't an obligation and if something isn't going anywhere no matter how much you force it? Go ahead.
If you're writing smut please don't refer to someone's penis as their member I swear to god every time I see this I piss myself laughing.
✕ - What would set you entirely off roleplaying with someone?
That's... a very good question. I'm not all too keen on those who put their formatting, icons and layouts above portraying their character. If things look nice then sure, it's a bonus! But I like getting invested in a character through their body language, how they react to things and the writer's choice of words.
☆ - How did you go about getting a grip on your muse’s character?
Thankfully, I know Heinz well enough now that how he's going to react to things and what he says comes... somewhat naturally, it's just the things in between I struggle with sometimes. More often than not I play out scenarios in my head because I'm a loser B')
