The Power Of Femininity In The Modern Age
Hey everyone! So I’m founding a campaign called the #NOTYOURGIRL campaign. This is a social media movement designed to inspire girls of the ages 13-21 to express their true selves through connecting globally with other girls while simultaneously educating themselves on modern feminism. #NOTYOURGIRL was inspired by a poem I wrote last year about rejecting societal expectations in order to embrace ourselves as females and learn that whoever we chose to be is beautiful, intelligent, passionate, and deserving. The hope is that, through using the hashtag, we can portray feminism in a positive light and bring together girls from all over the world. In order to promote the campaign, I’m going to be blogging at the above link on modern feminism, my personal experiences as a teenage girl, and my research on feminism and feminist education. If you are interested in learning more about the campaign, please check the site out and read my post “An Open Letter To Misogynistic Society”! I would love if people could signal boost this and get the word out about #NOTYOURGIRL. The goal is to ultimately dispel the notion that in order to be someone, girls have to be somebody’s- whether that be society’s, a boy’s, or any kind of unreasonable expectation of who they need to be. If you like the content I’m posting, I would greatly appreciate if you would subscribe! You can also follow the #NOTYOURGIRL campaign on twitter @nygcampaign and on tumblr at notyourgirlcampaign.tumblr.com.
Thanks guys!
