Hardest words to say
Yamato rolled his phone between his fingers as he sat against the desktop with his back against the wall. He had sent out a text for Sora to meet him here. He pick this room because he felt that it was private enough for him to do this. He picked now...because he wasn’t sure when else he could. Honestly he wished that there would be a clear ‘good’ time for him to bring this up with Sora. Realistically, that’d never happen.
The clouds were gray, and Yamato could hear the tiny droplets sprinkle down. The dark sky made the florescent lighting of the room brighter, despite it being colder than normal. Yamato took a deep breath and steadied his phone in his hand. After one breath he felt calmer. He needed to do this. And now was going to be the time.
Along with the rhythm of the rain he could hear the tick of the clock. The soft sound of his own breathing. Yamato focused on the sounds around him so that he wouldn’t get caught up in his thoughts and consequently back out of this.
The door to the empty classroom finally opened. Yamato gently smiled as he reacted to Sora’s pleasant aura. He reminded himself to keep the gentle smile and not let it fade off immediately, “Hey, Sora.” Yamato greeted with a gently wave, “Thanks for meeting me here.” He softened his voice just slightly.
His mouth went dry. He started to forget the words he had practiced over and over again.
He wasn’t sure how he was going to be able handle breaking up with Sora.
