unnecessary booooo boring parent hcs for medic

i headcanon medic coming from a long line of scholars: scientist, doctors, teachers, etc, so i think the idea of him going into the medical field wasnt really a choice but he didnt mind since he had a odd fascination with how the body works and repairs itself.

his father was a doctor and his mother was a professor or scientist, that got married via arranged marriage type of deal! both sides of the family want to continue their line with intellectuals™, Medic is no different, he will eventually find someone to his families standards and get married to them (whether he finds them himself or his parents set him up). They eventually did fall in love though and are happily married, satisfied with how things played out in their end. They're still incredibly strict and demanding, I feel even moreso since theyre both on the same page and are quick to take the others side.

I highly doubt he would marry out of love, purely bc he knew his entire family line consists of arranged marriages and unconsciously pushes his feelings aside to fully invest himself in his studies. Which is kinda why hes the way he is now? He's never really been in need of emotional attachments and relationships. Friendship/companionship is nice but its not at the top of his list.

a part of me HATES this headcanon bc its stereotypically 'angsty', and I could totally make his parents very sweet and leave a "what happened to Medic" question here - what really lead him to the life he lives now? I digress, he has big Only Child Energy but a part of me wants to hc that he had a sister.

I believe he was married to a woman he got along well with but it eventually went downhill as she began dictating things he could and couldnt do - but thats enough headassery from me sjdjdj
