anyone wanna join a shoegaze band that sounds somewhere between Dinosaur Jr, Lush, and Chvrches? we've got a guitarist, a bassist, a drummer, and about 15 pedals(so far). we need a vocalist that can sing really pretty, a keyboard player, maybe two more guitarists.

we've chosen the most disgusting name we could think of:

moist.

lowercase with the period. possibly in comic sans. i've said it like 10 times the past few days and it still makes me cringe with how gross it is.

Mil Haus is about 90% sure we have found a new spot to move in to! about 15 minute walk from the Springfield metro stop, 5 minutes from the mall(lol). it's a really sweet house with an awesome practice space, and 5 bedrooms. here's the deal: we need at least one more person to move in with us may 1st! the first months rent will be $550 and every month after will be $460. Please be Queer friendly, love music, not drink in the house, have a job(or a way to pay rent), and want to work together to help build the NOVA DIT community. as soon as we put down the security deposit we can move in (which might be later this week!) and first months rent isn't due until May 1st. COME ON HELP MAKE THIS PUNK HAUS HAPPEN!

oh geez tonight was exactly what i needed after what a bummer week it's been.

Dealbreakers had our first practice with our new drummer and my soon to be housemate and UGH IT FELT SO GOOD TO BE PRACTICING AGAIN! i'm switching to distorted acoustic guitar and hopefully scott will move to second guitar soon and chris our old drummer might be playing bass!

then we all drove over to Nat's house for the DIT Dinner Party which was sooo fucking awesome. there was so much amazing food, everyone brought something and it was all so delicious.

i don't knwo it just felt so good to be reminded i have such cool and loving friends, we didn't talk about running shows, we didn't have to worry about who was running door or who was checking the parking lots for drunks. we just HUNG OUT and it felt so good. also people were drinking but like only a few and no one had more than like 2 drinks, i was really worried i was going to feel triggered and uncomfortable but drinking was in no ones eyes the point of the night.

the conversations had were really great, i love all my friends and everyone in NOVA so much, tonight made me sure that i made the right decision to move back here and start a house. i can't wait to have our own place where we can throw parties like this more often, i can't wait to start doing my part in making the scene a more fun, safer, less stressful environment.
