Fest Too: What's a DIY Fest?

Fest Too is an annual festival hosted by Lab All Ages. Celebrating its third year, Fest Too 2014’s events will be taking place from June 26th-28th at The Lab @ Convergence in Alexandria, VA. For those who are unfamiliar, LAA is a collective of artists, musicians, and organizers all invested in cultivating a thriving DIY/DIT scene in Northern Virginia. Together, we at the Lab have created a space to showcase a diverse group of up-and-comers from all ends of the artistic spectrum. With FEST TOO 2014 just three days away, we just wanted to give a big thank you to all of our volunteers, promoters, and spaces for each of the Benefit Shows that were held during the last few months. Our goal was to raise $1000 for our food budget & a few supplies, and we came very close with $974. FEST TOO is a representation of just how wonderful the NoVa DIY community & the surrounding areas is, and we can't wait for an awesome celebration of music, art, and each other. do you have a safer spaces policy? are you aware that one of the bands playing your fest (be still cody) wrote a song about non consensual sex?

We were not aware of this previously and are looking into it now. We are contacting them (Be Still, Cody) for a statement about this currently.

Although we do not have a safer spaces policy in effect at this time, we have always handled reports of unsafe individuals personally and discreetly to create as safe of an environment for our attendees as possible. If there are any concerns Dan ABH and Alex Heinz are personally open to receive and any concerns about safety or unsafe persons potentially attending Fest Too. Weekend passes will ONLY BE AVAILABLE ONLINE. Save some serious scrilla and pick them up for only thirty bucks! Thats 44 bands, 10 workshops, and food during the festival for $30.

Day passes online are $10 for Thursday 6/26 and Friday 6/27 and $13 for Saturday 6/28.

At the door day passes will be sold for $12 on Thursday 6/26 and Friday 6/27 and $15 on Saturday 6/28.
