We Are Grounder Pt. 1
Hello all! One more chapter until season 1 is complete. As always constructive criticism is welcomed and make sure to let me know if you want to be added to the taglist.
Season 1; Episode 12: We Are Grounders Pt. 1 Pairings: OC x OC Best Friends, no love interests yet Warnings: Mentions of death Word Count: 3124
Elara and Nova overhear Bellamy as he addresses the rest of the camp, "Come on. These foxholes aren't gonna build themselves. Better hope those landmines work. All the gunpowder we're wasting, we could be making more grenades."
"Raven's the best. I think she proved that when she made the bomb for the bridge." Elara pipes in sticking up for the engineer and her idea for landmines.
"And rather than lecturing, maybe help out so this can get done quicker." Nova scolds the older boy.
"I've been helping, Angel." Bellamy rolls his eyes, "I need this entire section mined by morning. Then the south field."
"Hey, I told you. We're going after Finn, Clarke, and Monty in the morning." Raven says.
"And I told you, nobody leaves this camp."
"I'm talking to you. We can't just abandon our people. You want to lead them, show them you give a damn!"
"Raven, I understand your concern, I want to find them too. But Bellamy's right. Right now the most important thing is to make sure the rest of us are prepared to fight the Grounders." Nova gently tells the girl.
Before anyone has a chance to reply, a gunshot is heard throughout camp. "Hey, what the hell is the matter with you?" Bellamy scolds Sterling.
"I'm sorry, man. I fell asleep. I've been on watch all day." Sterling replies, clearly scared of Bellamy.
"We've all been on watch all day. That bullet was one less dead grounder."
"Knock it off!" Nova glares, "Sterling, go rest for a bit. I'll take over watch for you."
Sterling nods in thanks as Octavia speaks to her brother, "You need to relax a bit, you're scaring people."
"They should be scared! The bomb in the bridge bought us sometime to prepare, but that time is up. The Grounders are out there right now, waiting for us to leave and picking us off one by one when we do! Clarke, Finn, and Monty are gone, probably dead, and if you want to be next, I can't stop you, but no guns are leaving this camp! This camp is the only thing keeping us alive. Get back to work."
*_*_*_*_*_*
Elara is inside the dropship taking care of Myles and trying not to eavesdrop on Bellamy and Jasper's conversation. "Don't you think I want to go after them, too?" Bellamy asks.
"If it was you out there, you think Monty, Clarke, or Finn would hide behind these walls?" Jasper retaliates.
"No. They'd go after me. Then They'd be dead too. I am doing what I think is right for the group."
"It's funny, you didn't think that way when Octavia went missing." Jasper starts walking away.
"Where are you going?" Bellamy calls after him.
"More gunpowder for your minefield, sir."
Myles breaks the tension by calling out, "Water... Please."
"I'll get some." Bellamy says, causing Elara to smile in thanks.
"Don't worry, he'll be back with water soon. I promise you'll get better." Elara whispers to the injured boy.
She turns to walk away to get some more clean bandages for the wound. As Elara, Bellamy, and Jasper leave Myles alone for a moment, Murphy sneaks in.
He takes the cushion from under Myles's head and starts to suffocate him. "This is for tying the noose that they hung me with. Say hi to Connor for me."
The struggle stopped as Myles stopped breathing. Murphy turns around to leave and sees Jasper behind him. "He stopped breathing. I was.. I was trying to help." Murphy tries lying.
"Murphy, just put the gun down." Jasper remains calm.
"He tried to kill me." Jasper starts moving as Murphy defends his actions, "Hey, don't move."
"Ok. Ok. It's cool."
"No, it's not. You know what'll happen to me if you tell Bellamy."
Elara now is hiding knowing that something is happening but she's just not sure what. "Tell Bellamy what?" She hears Bellamy through a walkie-talkie.
"Give me the radio, Jasper." Murphy commands.
"Murphy has a gun. He killed Myles." Jasper quickly says into the walkie, causing Elara to gasp loudly then cover her mouth afraid that Murphy will hear.
"Murphy, what the hell are you doing?" Bellamy's voice is heard once more.
Creaking is heard as the dropship door starts closing. "Get out here sweetheart, I know you're hiding." Slowly Elara moves out of her hiding spot looking at Murphy with wide eyes.
"Murphy! Murphy! Open the damn door!" Bellamy's voice calls again.
"You try to be a hero, Jasper and Elara die." At Murphy's words, Jasper takes a protective stance in front of Elara.
*_*_*_*_*_*
Outside Nova still is unaware that Elara and Jasper are in danger. Octavia runs up to Bellamy, "I just heard Murphy has Jasper and Elara."
"Yeah. South foxhole all done?" Bellamy questions his sister.
"What? Bellamy, my friends are in there with a killer."
"O, look around. No one's working. If the grounders attack us right now, we're all dead."
Octavia grabs the radio from Bellamy's hand, "Murphy! Murphy, if you even touch Jasper or Elara, I swear to God, you're dead."
Bellamy grabs the radio back. "Octavia, I got this."
"Really? Because it doesn't look like you're doing anything about it."
Just as the words leave her mouth Raven comes around the corner, "Bellamy, you were right. There's a loose panel on the back. If I can pop it, we can get in through the floor."
"Sorry." Octavia says, to her brother.
Bellamy lifts the radio to talk to Murphy, "Murphy, I know you can hear me. All our ammo and food is in the middle level. You know that. You're leaving us vulnerable to an attack. I can't let that happen."
"Yeah, well, in case you haven't noticed, you're not exactly in control right now." Murphy replies.
"Come on, Murphy. You don't want to hurt Jasper or Elara. You want to hurt me. So what do you say? How about you trade them for me?"
"No." Octavia immediately tries to argue.
"All you have to do is let them go, and I'll take their place." Bellamy continues, ignoring his sister's protest.
"That's not a fair trade. Only you for both of them? I'll trade you Jasper for you. The only way I'll trade Elara is if Nova trades places."
Bellamy clenches his jaw as Octavia tries to change his mind, "Bellamy, if you do this, he'll kill you."
"If I don't he'll kill them." He takes a breath then speaks once more over the radio, "You open the door, I walk in, he walks out."
The dropship door starts opening, "Just you Bellamy, unarmed."
"Take this." Bellamy shrugs off his gun, handing it to his sister. "Don't let Nova know about this."
"10 seconds, or I'll put one in Jasper's leg." Murphy says then quickly starts counting.
"Raven will find a way to get you out." Octavia reassures Bellamy.
"I can handle Murphy. Get everyone back to work. The Grounders are still coming." Bellamy walks away from his sister and up the ramp, passing by Jasper as he walks out. "Are you alright, Elara?"
"Just peachy." Elara replies, attention returning to Murphy as he starts to shut the door once more.
*_*_*_*_*_*
"Why isn't anyone working?" Nova asks, walking up to Octavia. "And where's Bellamy?"
"Oh um," Octavia pauses, unsure how to answer.
Nova narrows her eyes, "What's wrong?"
"Well, Murphy has Bellamy in the dropship. I think he's going to kill him."
Nova nods then turns to everyone else, "Get back to work! The Grounders are coming and we need to be ready." The delinquents listen as Nova turns back to Octavia. "Alright what happened and is there a plan in place?"
"Murphy killed Myles and Jasper saw, so he shut the doors. Bellamy traded places because he knows Murphy didn't want to hurt Jasper but he does want to hurt him." She pauses to take a breath, "Raven and Jasper are trying to open the door from underneath."
"Ok, good." Nova starts but is interrupted by the sound of a gunshot.
"Bellamy? Are you ok?" Octavia asks over the radio.
Inside the dropship, Murphy is trying to get Bellamy to tie his own noose while Elara sits helplessly on the side. "You want her to know you're alive? Start tying."
"Bellamy, do you copy?" Octavia asks once more.
"I'm fine. We're both fine. Just a misfire. Now stop worrying and get back to work. And tell Raven to hurry her ass up." Bellamy replies.
"Why would he say we're both fine? Like we care about Murphy." Nova says to Octavia.
"He wasn't talking about Murphy." Octavia closes her eyes, "Elara is in there too."
"WHAT?" Nova yells. "Why the hell didn't you tell me that before?!"
"Bellamy asked me not to say anything. With him in there and Clarke missing, you may be our only leader."
"Yeah, well, with Clarke missing and Elara in there we don't have a medic and that's just as important. Especially considering you or Miller could easily step up as leader."
As Nova and Octavia talk, Raven is still trying to wire the door and Bellamy is just finishing his noose. "All right, that's long enough. Tie those two ends together." Murphy tells Bellamy. "Now get up and toss it over."
"What do you want me to say? You want me to apologize? I'm... I'm sorry." Bellamy says.
"You got it all wrong, Bellamy. I don't want you to say anything. I want you to feel what I felt, and then... Then I want you to die."
"Enough Murphy. You've had your fun. Just let us go." Elara tries.
"Not happening sweetheart."
*_*_*_*_*_*
"Murphy! Let them go and we can talk properly." Nova calls over the radio.
"There's our Angel. Wanna trade places with Elara?" Murphy asks.
"Don't do it, Nov!" Elara yells. Murphy runs over to Elara and slaps her across the face making her raise her hand to her cheek.
"I don't know what you're playing at Murphy. There's no getting out of here alive if you do this." Nova tries once more to reason with Murphy.
"Well, that's something for me to discuss later. Now do you want to trade or not?"
"Dammit." Nova mumbles before raising the walkie once more, "Open the doors, I'll come."
As soon as the door is wide open, Nova makes her way inside. "You're so stupid! How could you-" Elara starts scolding Nova.
"Out before I decide to keep all three of you." Murphy says, forcing Elara out.
"I'll be fine, Lara." Nova encourages with a nod. As soon as the doors start to close she turns her attention to Murphy, "Why did she have a red mark on her cheek?"
"I needed to punish her for talking without me telling her to." Murphy replies with a shrug, "Now sit over there like a good Angel and I'll get to you soon."
He turns back around to address Bellamy. "Stand on it. Put it over your head."
Bellamy shakes his head, "This is insane. The Grounders could..."
"Put it over your head." Murphy says once more, "Or I'll shoot her." He raises his gun to aim at Nova.
"Why don't you put the gun down and fight me like a man?" Nova speaks up, unfazed with the gun aimed at her head.
Bellamy quickly places the noose over his head to distract Murphy from Nova, "Happy now?"
"You're so brave, aren't you? Both of you? I mean, you came in here thinking you're just gonna turn this whole thing around, that you were stronger than me, and maybe one of your friends would come and help you. Well, what are you thinking now, Bellamy? Hmm?" Murphy says, when he gets no answer he tugs on the rope, choking the older boy.
*_*_*_*_*_*
"Are you alright?" Octavia calls to Elara, noticing the bruise forming on her cheek.
"Yeah, Murphy slapped me when I told Nova not to go in." Elara replies.
"That dick. Raven better be almost done. Why don't you go check in on everyone to make sure they're all ok?"
"Not happening. Nova may not be blood related but she's still my sister, I'm not leaving until I know she's alright."
Just as the words leave her mouth Jasper comes back around, "Raven said she thinks she has it and to be ready when the doors open." The two girls nod in response.
Inside, Murphy is continuing his rant, "You know, I gotta hand it to you guys. You got them all fooled. They actually look up to you. Yeah, well, we know the truth, don't we? You're both cowards, I learned that the day you kicked out the crate from beneath me and you gave him the ok to do it."
He looks at Bellamy again, "Isn't that what you said? That you were just giving the people what they wanted, right?"
"I should have stopped them." Bellamy says.
"Yeah, it's a little late for that now."
"I personally wish we killed you the day you came back to camp, sick or not. It's not like you were much help against the Grounder's anyway." Nova speaks up, causing Bellamy to glare at the girl, now is not the time to talk back to the guy with the gun.
Murphy walks over to Nova, who remains unfazed, staring Murphy in the eyes. He rams the butt of the gun into her ribs. She groans in pain as Murphy begins talking once more, "Next time you speak to me like that, I'm putting a bullet through you."
"Do you seriously think they're just gonna let you walk out of here?" Bellamy asks, bringing the attention back to him.
"Well, I think the princess is dead... but I know the king and angel are about to die, so who's really gonna lead these people, huh?" Me, that's who, and yeah, maybe I'll have to kill your Grounder-pounder little sister."
A scream from below us cuts Murphy off, "I'm guessing that's her right now."
Murphy moves to shoot at the floor, but Bellamy tries to kick him. So Murphy releases the rope to hang Bellamy. He then proceeds to shoot at the floor. With Murphy distracted, Nova rushes to him, and tackles him to the floor.
The two roll over fighting to overpower the other. Murphy hits Nova in the ribs once more, knowing that a weak spot for her at the moment. Just as the door begins to open, Murphy punches Nova across the face then runs up to the second floor.
Jasper, Elara, and Octavia rush in. Octavia and Jasper run to Bellamy as Elara runs to Nova. "Upstairs! Murphy went upstairs!" Nova calls, pushing herself off the floor.
She stumbles slightly as she hears Jasper ask Bellamy, "Can you breathe?"
Bellamy stands to pound on the latch to the second floor, "Murphy! It's over, Murphy! There's only one way out of this for you now!"
"You want to bet?" Murphy calls back.
From above them, an explosion is heard, the group rushes out to see Murphy running from the camp and into the woods. "That guy knows how to make an exit. Should we go after him?" Jasper asks.
"No. Grounders will take care of Murphy. We're going after Clarke, Finn, and Monty." Bellamy says.
"What? No, we aren't! That's how the Grounders have been getting us so far." Nova argues.
"Jasper and Raven were right. We don't abandon our own. Two guns. Jasper and me, that's it. Raven stays here to build up defenses. We lost a day because of this, and our gunpowder. Raven!" He yells for the girl.
Miller interrupts the conversation through a walkie, "All gunners! We got movement outside the south wall!"
People start moving before Miller speaks once more, "Wait! Hold your fire! It's Clarke and Finn! Open the gate!"
As soon as the pair are through the gate Clarke asks, "We heard an explosion. What happened?"
"Murphy happened." Bellamy answers.
"Are guys alright? No injuries?" Elara asks.
"No, we're fine." Finn says.
"Thank God! Where have you been? Where's Monty?" Jasper questions.
"Monty's gone?" Clarke asks, confusion lacing her voice.
"Clarke, we need to leave, now. All of us do. There's an army of Grounders, unlike anything we've seen, coming for us right now. We need to pack what we can and run." Finn interrupts.
"Like hell we do. We knew this was coming." Bellamy argues.
"Bell, we're not prepared." Octavia says.
"And they're not here yet. We still have time to get ready. Besides, where would we go? Where would we be safer than behind these walls?"
"There's an ocean to the east. People there will help us." Finn explains.
"You saw Lincoln." Octavia smiles.
Finn nods in response causing Bellamy to reply, "You expect us to trust a Grounder? This is our home now. We built this from nothing with our bare hands! Our dead are buried behind that wall in this ground. Our ground! The Grounders think they can take that away. They think that because we came from the sky, we don't belong here. But they're yet to realize one very important fact: We are on the ground now, and that means we are Grounders."
A few delinquents yell out in support, "Yeah! Grounders with guns!"
"Damn right! I say let 'em come!"
Clarke takes this as her cue to start speaking, "Bellamy's right. If we leave, we may never find a place as safe as this. And God knows, in this world, we could be faced with something even worse tomorrow. But that doesn't change the simple fact that if we stay here, we will die tonight. So pack your things. Just take what you can carry, now."
"What do you think, Nova?" Atlas calls from the crowd.
Nova sighs, "I agree with Clarke. Even if we can manage to beat the Grounders who are coming we will still lose people in this war. And I want to avoid that. I don't like the idea of running away but right now, that's our best option." She turns to look at Elara, "We're not warriors. We're kids, teenagers. We shouldn't need to fight for our lives."
"Help me." A voice calls out. The group turns their heads to see a limping Raven. She's clutching her side as blood drips through her fingers.
"Murphy shot her." Bellamy says as Finn rushes to her side.
"Get her onto the dropship." Clarke calls as she and Elara make their way inside to help her. The rest of the group start collecting their things, getting ready to leave the camp for good.

I’m going to finish these last few chapters of Season 1 asap then I’ll be back to a weekly schedule (which I will also be updating my teen wolf story)! Thank you guys so much for your patience and as always constructive criticism is welcomed. Make sure to let me know if you want to be added to the taglist.
Season 1; Episode 11: The Calm Pairings: OC x OC Best Friends, no love interests yet Warnings: Mentions of death Word Count: 2,215
Elara and Nova sat in silence at the West wall, watching for grounders. After about ten minutes, Elara decides to speak to her friend. "Are you sure you're ok? With your dad dying?"
Nova sighs, "Lara, I'm fine. He sent me down here to die anyway. Why should I be upset that he's gone? My concern is not my father's death. It's making sure the rest of us survive and the Grounders are taken care of."
"Taken care of? You mean killed."
"Well yeah, if that's what it comes to. I'd rather have them die then us."
Elara shakes her head, "We're not warriors, Nov."
"And we're not negotiators either, yet we were just trying that the other day."
"There is absolutely no arguing with you, is there?"
"I'm not trying to argue, I'm stating the truth."
"You say that you're stating facts and you're not a negotiator but you don't know all of the sides, and you literally studied to become leader on the Ark. I'm pretty sure that takes some negotiating and learning both sides."
Nova glances at Elara, "Do you mean to talk with the Grounders again to try and see their side of things? Because I don't think that will work considering they kept trying to put all the blame on us last time."
Nova pauses as she looks out to the forest before her. "Look," She continues, "I get that we're not perfect either and we made mistakes that if we didn't we may have been better off now. But we can't change what we did in the past. The Grounders killed our friends. And they weren't taking any of the blame. We need to do whatever it takes to survive. Warriors or not."
Before either of them can say more, one of the guys in camp calls out, "Woah! Guys, fire!"
"Go see what it is. I'll stay on post." Elara says.
Nova gives a quick nod before taking off to the commotion. "This is all your fault! We told you it was too much wood." Murphy yells, running towards Del and throwing a punch.
"Woah, woah, woah! Back up both of you!" Nova screams, running in between the two delinquents.
"Seriously, save it for the Grounders." Bellamy says, stepping up beside Nova.
"Well, now what the hell are we gonna do? That was all the food." Octavia announces.
*_*_*_*_*_*
Clarke, Bellamy, and Nova step into the charred remains of the smokehouse. "Any idea what happened?" Clarke asks.
"Murphy says that Del kept feeding the fire, mostly because Octavia told him it was a bad idea." Bellamy answers.
"And we believe Murphy?"
"I do."
"The only reason I believe him is because Octavia said the same thing." Nova replies.
"We have some wild onions and nuts in the dropship." Clarke begins, "It's only enough to last us maybe one or two weeks. What's left here?"
"Nothing. It all burned." Bellamy states.
"We're going to have to hunt. We won't be able to defend ourselves if we're starving." Nova immediately says.
"Anyone we can spare goes out." Clarke continues, agreeing with Nova.
Once the three step out they call for the attention of their fellow delinquents. "Each group takes someone with a gun, and they're for killing Grounders, not food. We don't have the ammo. Use the spears for hunting. Get what you can. Be back by nightfall. No one stays out after dark." Bellamy announces to the group.
"Miller, want to go out with Lara and I?" Nova asks the boy.
"Are you the one carrying a gun?" Miller asks.
"If you want me to, I can, but I figured you could use the gun and Lara and I could use our bows for hunting."
Miller nods, "Give me a minute to get my pack."
*_*_*_*_*_*
Once outside the walls the group of three stayed quiet as they tried to track some animals, any animal.
"I always hated learning tracking in Earth Skills. Now I wish I paid more attention." Nova mumbled quietly, squatting down to look in the dirt.
"Let me. I was actually pretty decent at Earth Skills. I mean, I'm no Finn, but I can track an animal or two." Miller says as he squats beside Nova.
After a brief moment Miller nods his head to the left, "That way." The three delinquents keep an eye out for Grounders and animals as they follow the tracks down to a river.
"Looks like we're getting two headed deer. I really hope this is safe to eat." Elara says as she raises her bow and shoots.
The deer falls with a quiet thud. "Good tracking, Miller. That will feed us for a bit. Especially if the other groups come back with good finds." Nova nods to the boy.
"Let's see if we can find any fish while we're by the river. Maybe we can bring back some more food." Miller replies.
"Good thinking." The group, plus the dead deer, move to a slightly deeper part of the river.
Miller keeps his eyes and ears peeled for Grounders while Nova and Elara stand still in the water, waiting for fish to swim closely by. After about 25 minutes the girls have collected about five fish each.
"This should be good for today. It will be dark soon, let's head back." Nova says.
The other two nod in agreement as they collect their kills and start their journey back to camp.
*_*_*_*_*_*
Walking back into camp and placing their kills in the new smokehouse, Elara walks out to check around camp for any possible injuries that occurred while she was away.
While Elara makes her rounds, Miller and Nova move to find Bellamy. "Bell! We just got back, and found a deer and ten fish." Miller informs.
"Ok, good. You guys were cutting it close to curfew. Had me a bit worried." Bellamy replies.
"Please, I think we were the most capable group out there. It was the others you should have worried about. Everyone's back, right?" Nova asks the older boy.
"We're still waiting for Clarke, Finn, and Myles." Bellamy answers.
"The sun just went down. They're not back yet?"
"No. Miller, go take over watch on the South wall." Miller nods and walks away. "I think I'm going to get a small group together to look for them."
Nova bites her lip, "You sure you want to risk it in the dark?"
"We don't have much of a choice. Clarke isn't just one of our medics, she's taken over a bit of a leadership role too. And Finn is our best tracker, we need him."
"Plus Myles is one of the few guys with decent aim. Yeah, I get it, I just don't like it."
"Me either. But we need to look out for ourselves."
"Take Elara, they may need medical attention." Nova says.
"You're not coming?" Bellamy asks, shocked that the girl is offering to stay behind.
"I promised I would continue some combat and weapons training. With the Grounders possibly striking any day now I need everyone to be at the top of their game. "
"You want to do that at night?" Bellamy raises an eyebrow.
"We don't know when they are planning on attacking, it could benefit us to train with low light."
"Makes sense. I'll let you get to it then."
Nova nods, "And Bellamy? If anything happens to Elara, I'm killing you."
*_*_*_*_*_*
"Hey, I feel like we haven't gotten the chance to talk recently." Atlas calls out to Elara.
"Sorry, with everything going on..." She trails off.
"Nah, I get it. Are you busy now?"
"Um, no. Everything seems to be alright around here."
"Great, could we talk then?"
Elara gives him a weird look, "Yeah, sure. What did you want to talk about?"
"Well, I don't remember much, but I vaguely remember asking about us when I was high on those Jobi nuts. I guess I just wanted to talk to you about it." Atlas rubs the back of his neck, clearly unsure of how to start this conversation.
"Oh, well. I didn't realize there was more that we had to talk about. I mean, I didn't really think much of it. You were high after all."
"Yeah, but after being down here with you I realized how much I miss you. I know we broke up because I got arrested, it was definitely the right thing to do considering I thought I was going to die but..."
Atlas sighs before he continues, "I kinda regret breaking up with you. You're an amazing person Elara. I was so lucky to be able to call you mine and I never stopped loving you. I guess I'm just wondering if I'll ever have a chance with you again?"
Elara bites her lip, looking up to the stars as she thinks. "Everything feels so different down here. I honestly don't know what's going to happen tomorrow or hell even within the next hour."
She takes a breath and turns to look Atlas in the eye, "What I do know is that I never stopped loving you either. You always meant so much to me, but you also hurt me when you broke up with me. I understand why you did it, but that doesn't mean I had an easy time with the break up."
"I can see us possibly working out in the future, but for now I think it's best that we stay friends.
Atlas nods and opens his mouth to respond, but before any words come out, a new voice is heard. "Elara! We need your help."
"Be right there!" Elara calls then turns back to Atlas, "I gotta go, we can talk more later." She smiles before standing up and making her way to the group gathered by the gates.
"What did you need?" Elara asks Bellamy, taking note of her bow and arrows in his hand.
Bellamy hands her the weapon, "Clarke, Finn, and Myles still aren’t back yet. We're going out to look for them and Nova said to bring you incase they need a medic."
"Alright, then let's go."
*_*_*_*_*_*
Nova stood to the side, watching as three delinquents practiced knife throwing. Whenever she felt like someone needed help, she went over and gave them tips on adjusting their throw and balance.
She was happy with the improvements the group has made with the thought that maybe we will survive running through her head.
After watching them practice for a while and slowly not being able to find any more mistakes, she moved on to the next group. This group, one of which was Harper, were practicing with spears.
"Good shot Harper, just watch your balance. You want to make sure your footing is even so you don't tip over with the power of the throw." Nova says as she walks over to adjust the girl's footing.
"Thanks, I felt like something was off." Harper replies, smiling at Nova.
Nova nods, "How are you feeling about a possible war?"
"Nervous, I know a war means we'll lose more people. I don't want to lose anyone. I don't want to die."
Nova gives her a sad smile, "We're just going to have to come up with a plan so we keep as many of our people alive as possible." Harper smiles then turns back to practicing with the spear.
*_*_*_*_*_*
"Where are they?" Raven asks Octavia and Elara.
"We'll find them." Octavia replies without hesitation.
Through the radio, Monty's voice can be heard, "I thought you said you were heading west. Where are you?"
"Just keep the moon to your left, and you'll find us." Bellamy answers.
"This morning, all I could think about was how much easier this would all be if Finn was just gone." Raven sighs.
"Don't blame yourself, Raven. It isn't your fault." Elara says, resting a comforting hand on the older girl's shoulder.
Monty's voice is heard once more, "Is anyone else hearing this signal? I think it's the same thing we heard in the black box."
"Damn it, Monty, pay attention." Bellamy scolds, "Do you see anything? Report."
Monty doesn't answer, instead Raven does, "Oh my God. There's someone in the bushes."
"Myles?" Octavia and Elara say when they see the boy on the ground.
"Hey, what happened? Where's Clarke and Finn?" Elara asks the injured boy. She's more focused on his wounds then his answer though.
"Grounders took them." Myles replies.
"Take it easy." Bellamy tells Myles, "We have to get him back to camp."
"Bell, what about Clarke and Finn?" Raven asks.
"Raven, I'm sorry."
"We need to make a stretcher, we can't carry him back with his injuries." Elara says.
The girls nod as they start gathering supplies for a stretcher. Elara stays behind to make sure Myles isn't bleeding too bad. She listens in as Bellamy radios Monty, "Monty, we're heading home. You copy?"
There's a brief pause before he continues, "Monty, can you hear me?" Again, no answer. "Monty, where the hell are you?"
The group looks at each other in shock, concerned that the Grounders may have captured another one of their group.

Chasing Butterflies: Nova’s Story
Hello all! Nova’s story is a pretty tragic one so there will be quite a few warnings listed. I hope you all enjoy this chapter and as always constructive criticism is appreciated. Remember to leave me requests if you want and let me know if you want to be added to any taglists.
Before Season 1 Pairings: OC x OC Best Friends, OC x OC Warnings: being drugged, sexual assault, mild torture, murder, self harm, and suicidal thoughts Word Count: 2,981
Everyone on the Ark knew about Nova Kane and not just because her father, Marcus, was the Vice Chancellor. No, they knew who she was because not only did she do extremely well in all of her classes but she was funny, kind, and above all she was shaping to become the next Chancellor. The youngest Chancellor in the history of the Ark.
Of course with Nova only being 15 it was still going to be quite sometime before this happened. But anyone who looked at her could tell that the girl was a natural born leader. The way she talked, the way she walked, the way she constantly observed everyone around her. She was intimidating to say the least. She held an aura that immediately made you respect her, even if you didn't like her.
Just three months ago Nova began taking private lessons with councilman Jericho Abraham. Her father, Chancellor Jaha, and Dr. Griffon were all too busy with their duties to give her lessons so Jericho happily volunteered to help.
These lessons were scheduled once a week so that Jericho could teach Nova about the laws on the Ark and the duties of the councilmen. These meetings were to help her understand how to best help her people, enforce the laws, and how to make difficult decisions. After all, before Nova could become Chancellor she needed to be on the council and win her people over.
When she wasn't at these lessons with Jericho, Nova was practicing her self defence training with her boyfriend Jett. Jett was a year older and training to become a guard at the time. Her self defence lessons were originally taught by an older guard, but when Jett started his training he volunteered to take over.
Nova wasn't someone you wanted to mess with, and that was clear to see. Though the more people got to know her, they realized how kind and caring she truly was. The Ark residents may not like the laws and they may frown at the sight of the privileged but everyone had, at one moment or another, wondered if Nova could be the person to make a difference.
But one day this hope for change was crushed. Nova Kane was arrested and no one knew why. There were rumors that she stole, what or from whom, no one knew. There were other rumors that she was framed for something she never even did. Only four people knew the truth, Chancellor Jaha, Dr. Griffon, Marcus Kane, and herself.

It was just after lunch on a Saturday, which meant it was time for Nova's lesson with Jericho. Head held high she made her way past the empty halls to his place. She knocked on the door and not a minute later it opened to reveal Jericho's smiling face. "Hello Nova. Please come in."
He steps aside, making room for the teenager to walk through the door, "Hi Mr. Abraham."
"Nova, how many times do I have to tell you to call me Jericho?"
Nova sheepishly smiled, "Right, sorry."
He lightly chuckled, "Would you like some tea before we begin?"
"Tea sounds lovely, thanks." Nova sits down in the living room and pulls out her tablet so she could get ready to write notes. She waits patiently as Jericho prepares the tea.
As soon as they were both seated, tea placed in front of them, the lesson began. As Nova was writing her notes and sipping the tea she started to feel dizzy. Blinking, she gently placed her mug down and shakes her head, trying to get rid of the odd feeling.
"Are you alright, Nova?" She hears Jericho ask.
"I- I don't-" She can't properly form a sentence. Her words slur as she raises a hand to her head.
"It's okay. You're going to be fine." This is the last thing Nova hears before she falls back, passing out.
When she starts to come through her vision is blurry and she feels pressure between her legs. She tries to move but quickly realizes that her limbs are tied. She groans out trying to speak but a cloth is stuffed in her mouth.
Finally her vision clears and above her is Jericho. When he sees that she's awake he let's a smile form on his lips, "You're so beautiful, darling." He whispers in her ear.
Realizing what's happening Nova begins to fight against her restraints. She looks down to see Jericho already inside of her. Tears fall from her eyes as he pushes her shoulders back, "It's okay. We're almost done. You've been so good."
The next few minutes go by agonizingly slow. But once Jericho is finished he begins speaking once more, "Now you're going to be a good girl as I untie you. You're going to take a shower and leave, not telling anyone about this."
He slowly takes the cloth out of her mouth so that she can answer, "Why should I listen to you?" Nova spits out, tears streaming down her face.
"Because no one will believe you. I mean come on. A councilman over a silly teenager? Be smart about this, darling."
"My dad will believe me."
"Fine, how about this? I know a way to kill you while making it look like an accident. So if you don't agree to my conditions you will never see your friends or father again."
Nova pauses, thinking this over. Reluctantly she nods, "Fine. I'll do what you say."
*_*_*_*_*_*
It's been a week since Nova was raped by Jericho Abraham. She's been trying her best to act normal but everyone can tell something is wrong. She's been distant and less talkative than usual.
Every night she wakes up in a cold sweat, gasping for breath, and tears streaming down her face. She's been having nightmares about the incident and whenever she sees Jericho in the halls she turns to walk the other way.
On Saturday morning she quickly made her way to Jett's place. Once the door opens Jett let Nova in, "Hey. Are you alright? You've been pretty distant this past week." Jett says once they're sitting.
"I think we should break up." Nova states.
"What? Why?" Jett asks in shock, "Did I do something?"
"No, Jett. I just- I've been going through some stuff and right now I'm not in the right mindset to be dating."
"Nova, talk to me. I want to help."
Nova bites her lip and blinks back tears, "Trust me. This is for the best. You can't help me with this, okay?"
Jett starts to become frustrated, "How do you know that?"
"I just do. Don't make this any harder than it has to be. Please, Jett. I care about you so much, but I need to deal with this by myself." She abruptly stands up, "I gotta go."
"Nova wait-" She doesn't hear the rest as she turns on her heel and leaves his place, rushing back to her room.
She knew what had to be done. She couldn't live like this anymore. Knowing that Jericho got away with raping her. She felt disgusting, used, broken. She knew that her dad wasn't supposed to be home until after dinner so she quickly picked up a knife and went to her room.
She twirled the knife in her hand, studying the silver blade. She gently put it down and grabbed her tablet. She wanted to write her goodbyes. A letter to Elara, Jett, and her dad apologizing for ending her life.
It took her a few hours before the three letters were written just how she wanted them to be. By this time it was well past her scheduled meeting time with Jericho. She made sure she left her tablet unlocked so there was easy access to her suicide letters.
She calmly reached over and grabbed the knife. She bite her lip to stop the sob from escaping her mouth. She ran the blade over one wrist then switched hands so she could do the same to the other.
She paused, sucking in a breath as she watched the blood drip from her arms. As her vision blurred from her tears she picked up the knife one last time to bury it in her chest. Just as she was lining up the blade and tightening her grip, her door swung open.
"Nova! Stop!" She looked up, shocked to see her father home early. Before she had the time to react he rushed over and pulled the knife from her hands. Marcus pulled his daughter into a tight hug, cradling her head against his chest.
"No! No! Why did you do that?" Nova sobbed, trying to shove her father away.
"Nova, please stop." Marcus said, not letting her go. Finally, Nova stopped fighting. Her body shook with sobs as she gripped tightly to Marcus' shirt. "You're okay, babygirl. I got you." He whispered to her, lightly patting her head to try and calm her.
Once she calmed down Marcus looked at her arms, "We need to get you to Abby."
"I'm not leaving my room." Nova replied, stubbornly.
"Fine, I'll tell her to come here." He quickly grabbed the knife and left the room to call Abby. When he re-entered Nova's room he looked at her, "What made you want to kill yourself, babygirl?"
She bit her lip, unsure if she should tell the truth. "Jericho raped me last week." She finally mumbled. She made sure to look her father in the eyes so he knew she was telling the truth.
"He what?" Marcus asked, shocked.
"Jericho drugged me, tied me up, and raped me last week when he was supposed to be helping me." She spoke once more, this time louder and more clear. "He made me shower after and told me not to say anything because no one would believe me. And then he said even if they did he knew a way to kill me and make it look like an accident."
Nova's voice shook as she told her dad what happened. But if you looked close enough you could see that there was fire in her eyes. She would get justice one way or another. "I'm going to see if there is anything we can do to prove this. And when we do I will be there to personally float him." Marcus says to his daughter.
*_*_*_*_*_*
Another week went by of Nova being distant with her friends and waking up in the middle of the night because of her nightmares. Marcus has been working tirelessly with Jaha and Abby to try and figure out a way that they could prove what he did. The night before they finally reached a conclusion but Nova was already in bed before her father could tell her.
On Saturday morning Marcus and Nova sat in their small kitchen eating breakfast. It was silent for a while before Marcus finally decided to break the news to the young girl, "Nova?"
"Hmm." She hummed, still not looking up from her plate.
"You know how Abby, Jaha, and I have been talking?" Nova nods. "Well, we don't think there is anyway to prove what he did to you."
Nova froze. This was her worst fear. To speak up and still have to face him everyday. "Nova, babygirl? Are you alright?"
Nova slammed her fork down. She quickly pushed out her chair, making it fall to the floor. "Nova!" Marcus called.
"What the fuck kind of question is that? Of course I'm not alright! My rapist gets to roam free because it's my word against his! He was fucking right! There's nothing I can do about it. I am not alright, not even in the slightest. I'm pissed off. I'm hurt. I don't want to be alive anymore."
"Nova please, calm down. Just because we can't do anything right now, doesn't mean that we will never be able to do anything."
Nova bitterly laughs, "Right. So we're just supposed to wait around until he commits another crime? Hurts another innocent girl? This is bullshit and you know it."
"Nova please. I'll figure something out. Just stay here. I'll be back in no more than an hour." He reaches over and kisses Nova on the forehead before turning and leaving.
Nova sucks in a couple of breaths. She then squares her shoulders and leaves her home, taking the well known journey to Jericho's place.
When the door swings open and Jericho's eyes land on Nova's smiling face, he's shocked. "Nova, what are you doing here? Your dad told me that you didn't want to take lessons anymore."
Nova pushed past him, "He doesn't know what he's talking about. I just needed a break last week."
"Oh, uh, alright. Did you want something to drink? Tea?"
Nova's smile widens, "Tea sounds lovely." Unlike last time, this time Nova follows him into the kitchen. When Jericho's back is turned her smile drops from her face. Her eyes harden into a glare as he starts to speak to her, though the words don't register.
She reaches over and picks up a pan. She holds it tightly in both hands and whacks Jericho over the head, instantly knocking him out. She slowly maneuvers him into a kitchen chair, tying his hands and legs to the chair so he can't move. She shoves a cloth in his mouth and grabs a long kitchen knife.
She pulls up a chair to sit across from him, waiting until he wakes up. When Jericho's eyes blink open Nova smirks. "Welcome to the land of the living. Don't enjoy it too much because you'll be dead soon."
Jericho's eyes widen in fear, he starts trying to speak though no words can be made out through the cloth, "Hush now, darling. It's okay. Be good for me." Nova patronizes. She leans forward pointing the knife under his throat, tilting his chin up. "I want you to look me in the eyes when I end your pathetic life."
She slowly stands up, pushing her chair away with her foot. She walks around Jericho, lightly dragging the knife across his face. She leans down to whisper in his ear, "Where should I cut first? Maybe an arm?" She moves the knife to one of his forearms.
"Or maybe I should just cut off both your hands so you can never touch a girl again." She moves the knife over his wrist. "Actually, I think it would be better if we start off closer to the penis." As she says the last word she slams the knife into Jericho's thigh.
This makes him scream in pain, though the sound is muffled. Nova chuckles, "This is fun." She yanks the knife out, making Jericho scream once more. She moves behind him once more, wrapping her arms around his chest. He tries to squirm away, putting as much distance between them as possible.
Nova mockingly pouts, "Why are you trying to move away from me? Just a couple of weeks ago you would have loved the feeling of my arms around you." When he doesn't stop trying to move away, Nova adjusts her hold on the knife and drags it across his ribs. Blood drips from the wound as Jericho grunts in pain. "Oops."
She quickly releases her hold on him, walking around to look him in the eyes once more. She eyes him carefully, "This is losing the appeal quickly. If I let you go, you won't say anything, right? Your cuts you got in some freak accident."
Nova reaches forward and pulls the cloth out of his mouth, "Why should I not say anything?" He says through clenched teeth.
"Because if you do you'll have to explain why I attacked you in the first place. And I already told my dad that you raped me. So that's two Kane's against a silly councilman."
"Fine, I won't say anything." Jericho spits out.
Nova smirks once more. She shoves the cloth back in his mouth which makes him start moving frantically, trying to get out of his binds. Nova quickly cuts Jericho's penis, tears springing to the older man's eyes. "See Jericho, the difference between me and you." Nova pauses, "I don't care if I get arrested. And the only way I'll let someone get away with disrespecting me," Nova scoffs, "Is if I'm dead."
Nova looks him directly in the eyes one last time as she plunges the knife through his heart. She cleans off the knife and her hands then leaves Jericho's home, returning to her own. As soon as she opens the door she is met with the frantic pacing of her father.
Marcus turns to face the door when he hears it opening, "Oh my God! Are you alright? Where have you been?" Marcus rushes over to his daughter, checking to see if she is injured.
"I'm fine." She looks down seeing her shirt coated in blood, "It's not my blood." She answers emotionlessly.
"Nova... what did you do?" Marcus asks, shock evident in his voice.
"You may want to get to councilman Abraham's place before his wife gets home in two hours." Is all she replies, "I'm going to go shower." She turns on her heel and walks into the bathroom. The next day Nova was arrested.
Abby told everyone that Jericho died from a heart attack and that Nova found him when she went over for her lesson that day. Rumors started to be made about why Nova was arrested but the only people who knew were the people involved in the cover up, Dr. Griffon, Marcus, and the Chancellor.
Of course Jericho and Nova knew the truth too. But only one of them could speak about it and she was locked in solitary for the next two and a half years.
Chasing Butterflies: Day Trip
Hello all! Sorry for the late update but I’ve been pretty busy today. As always I hope you all enjoy this chapter and constructive criticism is welcomed. Let me know if you want to be added to any of my taglists or if you have any requests.
Season 1; Episode 8: Day Trip Pairings: OC x OC Best Friends, no love interests chosen yet Warnings: swearing, character death, guns, being high Word Count: 3,435
Season 1 Masterlist
Clarke and Nova sit in on a council meeting using the video chat that Raven set up. Chancellor Jaha turns to address the girls, "Tell me about the Grounder. Can he provide any insight on how to survive winter?"
Nova loudly scoffs but allows Clarke to answer, "We're doing everything we can to prepare here. We're gathering nuts and berries, curing meats, digging for roots, but the truth is, we'll freeze before we starve."
Marcus speaks up, "There's good news on that front. According to civil plans from before the war, there's an old emergency aid depot not far from the landing site. Here are the coordinates." He sends the girls the coordinates as he finishes speaking.
"How do you know this place is still intact?" Nova asks.
"It was designed to withstand nuclear warfare."
"Alright, it's worth a shot." Clarke sighs.
"Chancellor, I have to object." Diana starts, causing Nova to roll her eyes. "Project Exodus is under way. The kids should sit tight in their camp until the first dropship launches."
"Listen lady, nothing you say or do is going to stop us from doing whatever the hell we want down here." Nova glares.
"Nova." Marcus starts to scold.
"What Marcus? What are you going to do? Try to send us to our deaths again?"
Jaha raises his hand to stop the argument, "Even if everything goes without a hitch, the hundred would die from exposure before relief arrives. I'd like a moment alone with Clarke and Nova, please, and I know there is a line of parents waiting to talk to their kids."
He waits for the council to filter out of the room then continues, "We are all very proud of what you two have done down there." He pauses, "Your parents."
"I don't want to talk about my mother." Clarke says.
At the same time Nova says, "I don't want to talk about my father."
"Please, it's time to forgive them. Let me schedule a time for you." Jaha tries to reason.
"I'm done with this conversation." Nova interrupts. She pulls off the headset and stands up, turning on her heel to leave the tent.
Nova moves to her tent, grabbing a bag and her bow. As she waits by the camp gates for Clarke she eats some of the nuts that the group has collected.
After a few minutes Clarke and Bellamy walk up to Nova. "You're coming too?"
"Don't sound too upset." Bellamy says with a smirk.
The petite brunette rolls her eyes and turns around, "Let's go." She says over her shoulder.

As Elara was practicing with her bow she heard her name get called. She turned around to see Atlas walking towards her, "Hey. Your parents are waiting for you."
"I said I would go last." Elara states.
Atlas shakes his head, a smile growing on his face. "Elara go. We both know you've been dying to talk to them. And you do so much for all of us, you shouldn't have to wait any longer."
Elara quickly pulled the boy into a tight hug, "Thanks Atlas." She let go and ran off before he had the time to react.
Elara makes her way into the empty communications tent. She sits down, smiling when she sees her parents. She pulls on the headset, "Hi guys."
"Look at you! I've missed you so much!" Celeste exclaims.
"I've missed you both too! I was so nervous that I wouldn't see you guys again. Are either of you coming down on the Exodus ship?"
"No, it's going to be mainly guards to help with the Grounders. And Abby and Marcus of course." Jacopo replies.
Elara nods but both of her parents can tell she's slightly upset, "Hey, cheer up. We'll be there sooner than you know it." Celeste smiles at her daughter, which causes the teenager to smile back.
"How have you been down there anyways? Staying out of trouble?" Jacopo asks.
"Of course. You know me, I just want to help people." Elara states.
"Yes, but helping people is also what got you sent down there." Celeste scolds.
"And I still want you to be able to protect yourself, Elara. The Grounders are dangerous." Jacopo says, concern lacing his voice.
"Trust me, I know. But I'll be fine. I've been helping with the medical things and Nova made me a bow and arrows." Elara smiles, she holds up the bow to show her parents.
They both laugh, "Just like Robin Hood." Celeste gently shakes her head.
"I'm getting really good at it too."
Not getting the chance to reply, a voice on the Ark interrupts, "Time's almost up."
Jacopo and Celeste nod then turn back to Elara, "We love you and miss you so much. Please stay safe down there, okay?" Jacopo says.
"I will and I'll see you guys soon. I love you." Elara blows a kiss to the screen, her parents returning the gesture.
"Fox is next." Celeste says, looking down at the list that says which delinquents still needed to talk with their loved ones. Elara nods, waves one last time then stands up to look for Fox.

As Nova, Clarke and Bellamy trek through the woods Clarke breaks the silence, "You know, the first dropship is gonna come down soon. Pretty sure you can't avoid Jaha forever."
"I can try." Bellamy states.
Clarke sighs, "The depot is supposed to be around here somewhere. There's got to be a door." She pauses then turns to address Bellamy one more time, "Maybe he'll be lenient."
"Look. I shot the man, Clarke. He's not just gonna forgive and forget. Let's split up, cover more ground." Bellamy glances at Nova, watching as she walks further away. He shouts to make sure he's heard, "Stay within shouting distance!"
Nova waves a hand, indicating that she heard him. She has her bow clenched tightly in her hands as she scans the area around her, looking for any threats or a door to the depot.
After a few minutes of surveying the land Nova hears Clarke call, "Nova, Bellamy. Over here. I found a door." Nova quickly makes her way to Clarke to see Bellamy and Clarke pulling open a door.
Once she is beside the other two Bellamy looks at the girls, "Really think this place hasn't been touched since the war?"
"A girl can dream. Come on." Clarke mumbles out.
"This is disgusting." Nova states, scrunching up her face when she nearly trips over a human skeleton.
"Hell of a place to die." Bellamy says, grabbing a hold of Nova's arm so she doesn't faceplant.
"So much for living down here." Clarke says, disappointment laced in her voice.
"It doesn't look like there's anything left down here." Nova states looking around.
"They must have distributed most of the supplies before the last bombs went off." She pauses as she opens up a container. "Hey, I found blankets."
"Excited about a couple of blankets?" Bellamy asks.
"It will help keep us warm during the winter. We may need to move everyone out of the tents and into the dropship at night. It will be crowded but the walls and so many people will help keep us warm." Nova says as she checks another barrel, finding more blankets.
Bellamy groans, frustrated. "How about a canteen or a med kit or a decent fucking tent?" He kicks another barrel over. The top pops off and guns and grease spill out.
Nova lightly laughs, "Jackpot."

Elara sits on the bottom level of the dropship, sorting through what little medical supplies the group has. She makes a mental note to get more of the seaweed they used on Jasper.
She looks up as someone walks through the door. Octavia smiles at her then continues to the top floor. She's not even up there a minute before she makes her way back down.
"Hey, E. I think I'm going to need your help."
"With what?" Elara asks, looking up at the brunette.
"The nuts we collected. They're making people hallucinate." Elara's mouth falls open.
"Okay." She pauses, "Well let's make sure everyone is calm and safe. We'll have to make sure nobody is eating anymore of the nuts." Elara stands up, "We can also start burning the nuts, there's no need for them to be here anymore."
Octavia nods as the two girls step out of the drop ship, "I'll start on this side and you can go the other way. Meet in the middle." Elara nods in agreement. The two girls separate, heading in opposite directions.
Atlas quickly spots Elara heading in her direction. "Wow, you look beautiful." He says to her, a lopsided smile lighting up his face.
Elara smiles back, "Thanks. How are you feeling?"
"Grrreaaattt." Atlas says, leaning closer to his ex.
"Have you been eating these nuts?" She asks, placing her hands on his shoulders to keep him from tipping over.
"Mhm, they're really good. I do feel a little weird though."
Elara nods and wraps his arm around her shoulder, "How about we bring you to your tent? You can take a nap and I'll give you some water. You should feel better in no time."
As Elara gently helps Atlas sit on his bed, the male looks up at her, "You know I fucked up when I lost you. You were the best damn thing that ever happened to me."
Elara bites her lip, "If you remember this conversation and want we can talk about it later, but right now isn't the time."
"Do you still love me?"
"I'll always love you Atlas." Elara replies without hesitation.
Atlas smiles as his eyes start to close, "I'll always love you too." Elara sighs and blinks back the tears forming in her eyes. She takes a minute to calm herself then steps out of the tent. She quickly brings him some water and leaves it next to his bed so he can have some when he wakes up. She then moves on to help the next person.

Bellamy and Nova both reach down to pick up a gun. "This changes everything. No more running from spears." He holds out a gun for Clarke, "Ready to be a badass, Clarke?"
She hesitantly takes it, "Look. I'm not gonna fight either of you on bringing guns back to camp. I know we need them, but don't expect me to like it."
"We're lucky the rifles were packed in grease. The fact that they survived means we're not sitting ducks anymore. You need to learn how to do this."
As Clarke and Bellamy talk Nova bends down to start cleaning the grease from the guns as best she can. She turns briefly to see Bellamy try to shoot at a blanket that they hung up for target practice. "My bullets are duds. Try yours."
Clarke shoots the blanket then laughs, "That was amazing. Am I horrible for feeling that?"
"Try again." Bellamy replies.
"No. We shouldn't waste the ammunition."
"People are going to need practice. when we bring the guns back. That includes you." Nova states, looking into another barrel.
"We need to talk about how we're gonna keep guns around camp, where are we gonna keep them, and who has access." Clarke says.
Bellamy ignores her and takes a shot at the blanket. "You left Miller in charge of the grounder. You must trust him."
Bellamy nods, "You both should keep him close. The others listen to him."
"We should keep him close?" Nova asks, kitting her eyebrows together in confusion.
"What's going on? You've been acting weird all day." Clarke continues. "All the rations you took. You're gonna run. That's why you agreed to come with us. You were gonna load up on supplies and just disappear."
"I don't have a choice. The Ark will be here soon." Bellamy states.
"What about Octavia?" Nova asks.
"She hates me. She'll be fine."
Nova rolls her eyes, "She doesn't hate you. She's your sister. She's just angry with you. There is a difference."
Bellamy shakes his head, "I shot the chancellor. They're gonna kill me. Best-case scenario, they lock me up with the Grounder for the rest of my life and there's no way in hell I'm giving Jaha the satisfaction. Keep practicing. I need some air."
The two girls exchange a look as he leaves. "I'm going to head this way and check for some more guns and blankets. I'll be back in five minutes tops. Take a few more shots." Clarke nods and watches as Nova heads down a hall.

Back at the camp Elara takes her time making sure the delinquents are safe. Finn and Raven have since emerged from their tent to help though Elara made sure that Finn's main task was to burn the jobi nuts so he didn't do too much and risk injuring himself further.
"Hey Harper, how are you feeling?" Elara asks sitting down next to her old cellmate.
"Hmm." Harper hums. She slightly sways to music only she can hear. "I feel a little funny, but good." She pauses, "Yeah, really good."
Harper's eyes stay closed as she talks to Elara. "Have you been drinking water like I asked?"
Harper nods making Elara continue, "Good. Remember to stay here and keep drinking. I need to check on everyone else."
Harper nods once more as Elara stands up to head to another part of the camp. As she makes her way to the wall she makes eye contact with the grounder. "How did you-" She cuts herself off already knowing the answer, "Octavia."
The grounder just stares at her, unsure of what to do. "Well, go quickly. Before anyone else sees you. Though of course they'd probably think they were hallucinating. Be careful, okay?"
The grounder nods in thanks then continues out of the camp.

Nova looks up from a barrel filled with blankets when she hears a noise. "Clarke?" Not hearing anything back she hesitantly walks in the direction. Her eyes meet the face of councilman Abraham.
She gasps, "You're dead."
Jericho laughs, "Yes, but you should know by now darling, you can't get rid of me that easily."
Nova clenches her jaw, "You may haunt my dreams but you got what you deserved. Hell I should have tortured you longer."
The man smirks as he looks down at the petite girl. "You know you grew up to look even more beautiful."
Nova tightens her hands into fists. She squeezes her eyes shut and quietly starts to mutter, "Get out of my head. You aren't here. You aren't real."
"Come on now darling, I'm more real than you may think."
Nova starts lightly pulling at her hair, "Shut up, shut up, shut up." She mumbles over and over. Her quiet mumbles drown out the sound over Jericho. After about a minute of silence she slowly peels her eyes open.
She sighs in relief when the man is nowhere to be found. She bends down to pick up her bow and arrow that she discarded when Jericho showed up. Once she makes it to Clarke, she sees the blonde knocked out on the floor.
Rushing over she begins to shake her shoulder, "Clarke get up." As soon as the blonde's eyes flutter open Nova asks, "What happened?"
Clarke blinks and shakes her head, "I-I hallucinated then Dax showed up and knocked me out."
"Dax?" Nova asks in disbelief.
Clarke nods, "We need to find Bellamy."
Nova helps her up from the floor. Clarke picks up a gun then the two girls head out of the depot. "Split up, don't stray too far though." Clarke nods then heads away from Nova.
After a few moments, Nova circles back around and runs in the direction that she can hear fighting happening. When she makes it to the clearing in the woods she sees Dax on top of Bellamy, strangling him.
Nova aims her bow and shoots. The arrow lodges into the side of Dax's neck. He tips over dead, Bellamy pushing him off of his body. He sits up gasping for breath.
Emotionlessly Nova walks over and holds out a hand helping Bellamy up. The two move over towards Clarke who has propped herself up against a tree.
The three sit in silence for a few minutes before Clarke decides to speak, "You're okay."
"No I'm not." Bellamy chokes out, "My mother... If she knew what I've done, who I am. She raised me to be better, to be good. All I do is hurt people. Elara was right, I am a monster."
"You saved someone today." Clarke begins, arguing with the boy. "You may be a total ass half of the time, but I need you. We all need you. None of us would've survived this place if it wasn't for you."
"I would have." Nova pipes in. Clarke turns to glare at her. "What? I'm just speaking the truth. But Clarke does have a point. The others trust you. They look to you when they need guidance."
Clarke continues, "You want forgiveness, fine, I'll give it to you. You're forgiven, okay, but you can't run, Bellamy. You have to come back with us. You have to face it."
"Like you both faced your parents?" Bellamy challenges.
"You're right. I don't want to face my mom or Nova her dad. All I think about every day is how we're gonna keep everyone alive, but we don't have a choice."
"Jaha will kill me when he comes down."
"Not if you explain why you needed to come down and everything you've done since to help us stay alive. Plus Clarke and I will both vouch for you." Nova says.
"We'll figure it out." Clarke adds.
"Can we figure it out later?" Bellamy asks, looking between the two younger girls.
"Whenever you're ready."

Nova, Clarke and Bellamy trek back to the camp. Their bags filled with blankets and arms loaded with guns. "He's gone. The grounder is gone." Miller's voice is heard from inside the camp walls.
"What if he brings other grounders back?" Jasper asks.
A few more voices are heard as the three step into the camp, "Let the grounders come." Bellamy's voice booms above the rest, the delinquents attention brought to the three leaders. "We've been afraid of them for far too long, and why? Because of their knives and spears. I don't know about you. I'm tired of being afraid."
The three drop the guns in front of them. Cheers start to sound from the surrounding group. "These are weapons, not toys, and we have to be prepared to give them up when the guard dropships come, but until then, they're going to help keep us safe." Clarke addresses the group.
"And there's more where these come from. Tomorrow Blake and I are starting training, and if the grounders want a fight, we'll be ready." Nova says, looking around at the delinquents faces.
A little while later Clarke and Nova sat in the communication tent speaking with Jaha. "He wants to talk with you. Set up a deal." Nova states.
"I'll go get him." Clarke mumbles as she stands up.
"I can still set up a meeting with your father, Nova." Jaha says as soon as Clarke is out of the video.
"I'll talk to him when he comes down. He can wait until then." Nova replies. Jaha opens his mouth to answer but stops when he sees Bellamy.
"Mr. Blake, I've wanted to talk to you for some time now." Jaha says.
"Before you do, I'd like to say something." Clarke begins, "When you sent us down here, you sent us to die, but miraculously, most of us are still alive. In large part, that is because of him, because of Bellamy. He's one of us, and he deserves to be pardoned of his crimes just like the rest of us."
"Clarke, I appreciate your point of view, but it's not that simple."
"It is that simple. You're just making it more complicated because you're biased on the fact that the attack was against you." Nova states, coming across more snippy then attended.
Bellamy speaks up before Jaha has the chance to reply, "If you pardon me I'll tell you who on the Ark wants you dead."
Jaha pauses for a brief moment, "Bellamy Blake, you're pardoned for your crimes. Now, tell me who gave you the gun."
