the first ever most serious charlton/carlchance fic
hello, byler nation. please welcome "i'm starting to believe in fate (because it delivered you)", the first ever most serious, period-accurate, canon compliant, lore heavy and currently the longest charlton fic. i had the goal to post the first charlton fic, but unfortunately this fic took more time than anticipated and someone posted before me. but this setback will not stop me since i cooked a whole amount of lore.
this may seem like a simple crack fic (and it was born as such), but i put my whole heart and soul into this. i researched filipino-american immigration history. best college basketball teams in 1989. asian queer culture in 1990s nyc. i looked into chance's wiki, the hawkins tigers wiki, multiple minor characters wikis. every character in this is canon from the show (even if they don't have ANY lines and i made up their entire personality) with the exception of chance's parents. i don't know why but this fic consumed me, so here's the result.
i'm starting to believe in fate (because it delivered you) - gaypaladinosaur - Stranger Things (TV 2016) [Archive of Our Own]
and yes, this is listed as a series because i will be writing the byler perspective of this whole thing eventually.

Hey if any of yall are aspiring writers may I suggest writing a queer love story about two guys named Chance and Carlton who meet randomly at a bar and realize they have the same ex who is maybe or maybe not named William and they have a beautiful slow burn strangers to friends to lovers story..... Just putting the idea out there
