Nova Scotia needs more jobs to fill the labour shortages in the province Job seekers from other countries interested in coming to Nova Scotia through economic immigration programs are still in luck. Statistics Canada figures demonstrate that the number of job vacancies in the province increased by 52.1 percent from the second quarter of last year to this year. Despite employers adding 21,240 employees to their payrolls in the past year, many positions still need to be filled. While next year's real GDP growth in Nova Scotia is projected to slow from 2.2% to 0.5%, the economy is expected to come back with 2.4% real GDP growth in 2024. In addition, the pent-up demand for labour is likely to keep the job market good for those seeking employment. #Labour_shortages, #labour_market, #Nova_Scotia, #statistics https://ppforum.ca/publications/solving-for-shortages-in-nova-scotia-employer-experiences-and-the-labour-market-across-atlantic-provinces/ (at Nova Scotia Canada) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClZTXoVOAfT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

In the first half of 2020, Canada admitted 1,060 immigrants through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). New Brunswick keeps attracting the most immigrants in the AIPP in Maritimes. The province accepted 455 newcomers (42.9% of the total). Nova Scotia is slightly behind New Brunswick with 425 immigrants (40.1%). Newfoundland and Labrador welcomed 100 AIPP immigrants (9.4%). Finally, Prince Edward Island admitted 80 newcomers in the AIPP (7.5%). Unfortunately, due to the COIVD-19, the Maritimes will not repeat the last year’s record of 4,145 immigrants in the AIPP and most likely, the four provinces will not use all quota of 5,000 immigrants as was set in 2020-2022 Immigration Levels Plan. Since the launch of the AIPP in 2017, Canada admitted about 6,695 immigrants through this program. #AIPP, #Atlantic_pilot, #New_Brunswick, #Nova_Scotia, #Prince_Edward_Island, #Newfoundland_and_Labrador, #PR_admission, #Ghimmigrationsvcs (at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDzIDpSDneM/?igshid=ewsjplu4gyrd
