im not even that crazy about angst cuz im a big sad fool who wants sappy happy things BUT i can def dig angst as an obstacle to reach happiness, which world of light seems to be. let’s discuss the Sadness shall we ?
mega man (yes im talking about him first lol) is probably All Fucked Up bc he hasn’t even comprehended why he, a machine, has a “spirit” let alone what to do about being fucking Dead (if they even have consciousness, i have no idea)
shulk is 100% fucked up bc he couldn’t do anything and saw everyone die
in whatever trapped stage they’re in (like mario was shown in the trailer), they can see through the eyes of their copies and watch as kirby (and presumably whoever else he saves first) are fighting against Evil Them, and can do nothing to stop it
sonic having to fight Evil Pikachu, knowing he wasn’t fast enough to save them
pit feeling like a complete idiot from how confident he was before everything went to shit and now feels like a complete failure who can’t even fly on his own
expanding on that, he probably feels partially to blame because he needs palutena to help him fly. if he didn’t, she could have had a chance to focus on running away herself-
