Novi Students Learn Little Things go a Long Way to Help the Environment
3rd grade students from Parkview Elementary School in Novi are learning what small things they can do everyday to help the environment.
Arch Environmental Group gave a presentation on stormwater and how it affects the environment. The presentation started with a brief demonstration and used dye, dirt, and paper to substitute for chemicals, sediment and litter; and they saw what happens when these things get into the stormwater system. We talked about many issues regarding stormwater, and how to prevent pollution from going to our watersheds.
After the presentation, students formulated some thought-provoking questions and were very eager and determined to help the environment.
