My last night working @ Avondale College. A special 'thank you' to all the students, teachers, staff members & community groups I've met, had back and forth banter with and also the occasional assclowns I snap smoking over the years while working at #Avondale #College. I had a good run. A BIG 'thank you' to my boss, Bevan Jones, who for 5 years and 28 days overlooked that I was always late even though I live down the road HA! I'm not perfect LOL. I even showed up late tonight just so it was consistent lol. Cheers for the memories! ooxxooXoXXx. 😙😙 P.S. Don't know if it's safe to say this as I am awaiting my final paycheck but... #NOVOPAY CAN KISS MY FAT PALE ASS!! CHEEEEHOOOO!! 😛😁😁

This is stunning. Key is actually saying that Government ownership is an assurance that the system (in this case Novopay) will be "properly resourced and properly looked after." As opposed to private ownership in a competitive market. Gosh.

The Government has said it will be spending more money on Novopay, a move a Nelson principal calls "throwing good money after bad".

Nearly two years after its introduction, the Novopay payroll system is STILL screwing up teachers salaries. And just to add insult to injury, when they finally get their back pay, the tax man takes a bigger chunk than normal because of the "excessive size" of the amount paid.

Another brilliant PR move in the Novopay debacle.

The Ministry of Education has called in debt collectors to retrieve money the failed payroll system has overpaid to teachers by mistake, the Government has confirmed today. Labour leader David Shearer says calling in debt collectors is "simply outrageous".

"Teachers have just as much right to send debt collectors to Steven Joyce’s office to ask for the money they are owed." Novopay has been plagued with issues since it was introduced six months ago, with thousands of teachers being underpaid, overpaid or not paid at all.

Our beloved Ministry of Education's error-prone paroll system Novopay is still causing havok for teachers & custodial staff at schools throughout New Zealand. Novopay, supposedly design to save the Government (& the Ministry) money cut cutting operating costs, has instead proved itself to be an expensive disaster.

How expensive, you ask? Well, one teacher's payslip listed her hourly wage rate at over $11 million dollars (NZ). This, technically, makes her the highest paid person on the entire planet!
