11W，A Bottleneck For RGBCW Bulb?

Annoyed by the low brightness of smart bulbs? What is the wattage of the brightest RGBCW smart bulb you’ve ever seen? Let's take a look at the data from several typical brands:

Philips Hue: 800lm, 10W

Lifx: 1100lm, 11W

Sengled: 940lm, 9.8W

TP-link: 800lm, 11W

Sylvania: 810lm, 11W

None of them exceeds 11W! But why? Actually it’s due to the heat dissipation problem.

LED chips produce heat when they are illuminated. A brighter bulb requires higher wattage( using more LED chips), which will produce more heat. The bulb can be easily damaged if it does not dissipate heat well.

The most common size of bulb is A19, diameter 60mm. 11W is close to the maximum wattage of a RGBCW smart bulb within this size. If you want to add more LED chips without changing the size, you must solve the heat dissipation problem, which is a technical difficulty.

Here comes the question, what if the 11W bulb cannot meet your brightness requirement?
