One thing I've been doing in Destiny, that might be cool for other people to do, especially with Renegades and the free play week coming up, is jumping into the normal strike playlist, especially the strikes that New Lights have to do for their quests. There are a *lot* of new players there, but with everyone using the Portal, there aren't always enough people around to fill out fireteams, especially not experienced players. Especially not experienced players who will be patient and not zoom ahead leaving New Lights behind to get lost and killed. And I know from when i started that it can be pretty discouraging to be a new player and just not know where you're going or what to do. You die on one jump and suddenly your fireteam is nowhere to be seen until you get pulled. I would like to encourage people to try jumping in, even once or twice, just to be willing to take things slowly. It's really easy to forget how tough things can be as a new player - we've all played Insight Terminus a million times by now and can hold plates in the boss room while blindfolded. But for New Lights it's kind of tough! So yeah, go in, no ego, no sodium. Let new players get some kills, don't zoom ahead, resurrect them and be patient on jumps (Defiant Battlegrounds I am looking at you especially). You don't need to talk or become BFFs, just be kind and give people a good experience. It can make a huge difference to new players (I speak from experience). You get to look like a colossal badass wrecking things in your high tier gear and broken builds, and New Lights don't end up taking an accidental tour of Nessus because they can't find the entrance to Insight Terminus.
