honestly i was just thinking about characters meeting their past selves and like, obviously my first thought was scrapper (take one good long look at me and guess why /lh) but
hook is the more interesting choice
in TR it doesn't look like he's changed at all to an outsider, but if you put past hook and present hook next to each other, the personal changes are so obvious
a younger hook looking at his older self who has so much practical medical experience, but is also emotionally/mentally linked to five other people, and considers that - that airhead his best friend who he can't live without? his older self who consciously and willingly backs down on things to that same airhead, as if he has no spine?? he'd see present-day hook as someone who's now let himself be burdened and held back by others, the same way he thought he'd never let happen (again) ...
