See the big reason I divide RE canons into alternative universes is because sometimes I think og 2 and 4 Leon would do that and remake leon would never.
6 and 9 are always tosses in the air and the movies always fall in line with the original time line.
Like I look at remake Leon and just know he is not an alcoholic. Even wary remake 4 Leon is not an alcoholic. You can’t come to me and say he is. He has such large and uncontrollable emotions he has no outlet for. He’s trying so hard to put all his value into work and doing right by Sherry and it’s not working it. His ptsd is festering and rotting him from the inside out. He has no outlet for it other than work and that just leads to him shooting a man fifty times in the head.
Original time line 2 and 4 Leon was an alcoholics before RC. It was just teenage boy party stuff before but after, he’s putting everything into I’m gonna die anyway, who cares if my liver gives out?
I want and need remake Leon to go home to Sherry every night and put all his devotion to her and that leads to the deep relationship they have in 9. But that isn’t fixing his depression. At least if he was an alcoholic, people would know something was wrong.
Original timeline Leon has been drinking so long it’s not even fun anymore. It’s just something he does that lead him to that bar in Colorado.
Its a paradox I know but in my opinion there are two Leon’s and only one of them is a drunk and I don’t except people just saying it’s canon in the remakes cause no he doesn’t drink. Stop saying my little boy drinks. What he does is way worse and he’s more likely to just disappear one day and they will never find the body.
