Patrick Swayze as Vida Boheme, Wesley Snipes as Noxeema Jackson, and John Leguizamo as Chi-Chi Rodriguez (and a special photographic appearance by classic Hollywood icon Julie Newmar, who also makes a cameo later in the movie) in the 1995 Universal Pictures/Beeban Kidron lgbtq+ comedy-drama To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. Swayze and Leguizamo both received Golden Globe Award nominations for their performances in this movie, Swayze for Best Actor - Musical or Comedy and Leguizamo for Best Supporting Actor - Musical or Comedy. Though many other big name stars were considered for the role of Vida Boheme (including Robert Downey Jr., Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Matt Dillon, Gary Oldman, Willem Dafoe and the highly unlikely Mel Gibson), Swayze nailed his audition after hiring a glam squad to transform his appearance and convincing director Beeban Kidron to go for a walk with him around town to prove that he could pass as a woman. Beeban later recalled that it was his walk that sealed the deal, stating: "with his beauty and dancer's grace, he did just that. He had the job."

evilest thing ever to happen in film history is chi chi rodriguez talking the whole movie about how she wanted a man who would love her forever, finding him, and giving him up because she didn't want to risk telling him the truth about herself because she had no immediate way out of the town/fear of rejection. so she lets bobby lee have him. AUGHGHHGHHHHHH
