Laguna hadn’t really believed he needed a SeeD escort in Esthar --- he’d only accepted at Squall’s urging, having not taken the threat of a new terrorist group in Esthar seriously, plus he had his soldiers. He had welcomed Demi graciously, had made her feel at home --- even more so after finding out Esthar was her place of birth, but he had found the security detail and the subsequent changes such a bothersome ordeal. 

He’d even slipped by her notice a few times, until Squall had found out and given him an earful about it that was. After that Laguna took her presence more seriously, although at times he did find himself treating her like she was a vacationing guest and not hired protection. Hyne, he’d been so stupid.

Laguna could hear an incessant drumming, irregular but strong, and it took the aging President several fogged fueled moments to realize it was his own heart beat he was hearing. It was as if someone had replaced his brain with the rapidly trembling muscle. Disoriented, Laguna took in his surroundings. Demi was pinning him against the wall with her back, meanwhile she was focused on the target far off in the distance, taking aim at them with her own weapon.

They had been walking around Esthar, Laguna showing Demi some of his favorite places to visit, ignoring her unease at being out in the open, when a stranger had approached them. Far too used to the people of Esthar approaching Laguna while he made his routine visits around the city he hadn’t batted an eye. He had completely missed the concealed weapon in the man’s jacket --- Demi had not. Before he had even registered danger Demi had swept him behind her, using the nearby wall as cover for their backs, had already lunged for his attacker when Laguna finally saw the stranger’s gun. 

Thoughts collected, Laguna gently stepped aside and to the left of Demi. “I’m not completely useless.” He says, voice steady and serious. In a fluid motion, as if it were as easy as breathing, Laguna unholsters the pistol usually concealed against his left breast and takes aim for the fleeing form of his would-be assassin.

Well... I did go through five whole years of posts here on this blog, and most of the old names are still present, so it’s less that I remembered, and more that I found them again ;) But yeah, it definitely gives one a nostalgic to see all these old names, doesn’t it?^^

You know... I have a feeling that the majority of people on this list, especially from the early days, aren’t in the (tumblr) rp scene anymore, and frankly, I can understand them. A lot of things have changed, not many for the better on tumblr’s part, but let’s not get into that too much. It’s beside the point right now. 

Instead, let me just say that I’m really touched by you still reading along with my Burmecian, and that I really miss playing with you and your absolutely adorable Burmecian - She was like the perfect little sister to him, and I would have loved to see their relationship grow! Or, maybe, it would instead have developed into a relationship...? Hehehe, we may never find out, but it’s still fun to think about it, no?^^

That aside... thank you for your well-wishes. I hope you’ll have a good time too, and that you’ll succeed in all your endeavors! If you ever want to chat a bit, I’d love to talk more with you again! And, hey, should it ever come to pass that you return to roleplaying? You can be certain I’ll be welcoming you with open arms^^

I’m incredibly touched that you remembered all of us there at the top. We all might not be on anymore, but I am absolutely ecstatic that you remembered us. Thank you so much for the mentions Impa is the entire reason I saw this, I’m glad I haven’t changed that blog  And listen if you want to ever do a thing again, I will dredge up what I can from the old blog and I’d be happy to write in the IX fandom again, and on Demi in general because she really does need the love.

Congrats on the 5 years and surviving the mass exodus from this site, I’m glad to see more of us original few still around.

Well, while remembered might not be the perfect word here, as many of these names, I only rediscovered upon going through all the posts on this blog, I can honestly say that I hold all of you and all these interactions dear. As such I’m really, really happy to see that there are still some people for the old days around, cause let’s be honest:

Without them, I’d never be here right now.

It’s all these interactions and stories and bonds formed that have kept me here, and that have also helped me through some rather rough times. So yeah... I really wanted to honor that, even if it’s only with something this small - but I’m really glad it meant as much to others as it does to me!

That said, I’m always happy to play and start new things on here, especially with old friends, so where it is with Demi or Impa, I’d be delighted to plan something with you and play once again!

Hehe, thank you my friend! Yeah, sometimes I’m honestly amazed myself as well that Sceada is still around and going strong! Though I’ve had a bit of a slow spell these days, with writing barely anything, let alone replies... - hopefully I’ll manage to turn that around soon-ish.

That said, the starter you mention will likely have to wait for a bit, seeing how Sceada’s still on his journey, and, well, mostly clueless on where to search^^’’ But don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll get to that once he’s back!^^

It wasn't often that she got to play with little dragons, though her companion would sooner have her leaving this place. The giant coeurl was not pleased to know that she was sitting with the wyrm's kin, and would rather grab her and run off towards the hinterlands where they would be safer. But he had little choice than to sit there, body curled around her to protect the small kitsune from unwanted attention.

Nidhogg, in a rare choice of leaving his small, humble home in the forelands, only seemed to be glowering at the strange woman and her companion as she played with the wyrmlings. He hadn’t had a chance to shift as he usually did, so he did the next best thing as a Xaela:

Glower and silently intimidate. 

“I suggest to thee that thou leaves them alone.” He finally spoke, his voice quiet. Nidhogg was probably in the wrong, but he was... automatically protective when it came to the wyrmlings. “Unless the dragons of Anyx Trine hast given thee leave to play with them.”

Ishgard. Ria had asked Aly to take her to the nearest city after their time spent in the Coerthan wilderness. Needed supplies or some such. So Aly of course had brought her to Ishgard, where immediately the two of them were cast dirty looks.

“Don’t pay them any mind,” Aly said softly. “Ishgard is...xenophobic at best. And there’s not a lot of Miqote around here, let alone Kitsune, she explained. She lead Ria to the Jeweled Crozier where Aly set about procuring the things she had needed. But suddenly she found herself pulled into an alleyway, pressed into the wall by her new friend. She was about to ask what the matter was when a group of Elezen walked by and Aly distinctly caught the phrase,

                                                          “We’ll gut those scaley bastards!”

Ria’s eyes followed the Elezen closely as she tried to hide Aleryth from view and the Au Ra gave a tiny giggle.

“Ah, they’re uh, talking about the Dravanians,” Aly assured her. “Not my kind...” Not that there hadn’t been violence against Au Ra in Ishgard in the past, but...

She wasn’t sure exactly how they had ended up in the coerthan wilderness after dark, but it absolutely freezing. “Y-yeah, g-g-g-good idea--” she managed, somehow managing to pull out her grimoire and summon Ifrit with frozen fingers. “I-Ifrit c-can help us c-carry s-some fire w-wood...”
