I wasn’t trying to capture a beautiful hummingbird mid-flight...when I looked more closely, that is what I found! My summer summed up in one photo - except, maybe not? No Brie in this shot!! I have always enjoyed reading but it has been on the back burner for a while (unless I’m on the beach in the Bahamas.) I’ve been listening to NPR every day; Podcasts during my commute to work; and audio books. The possibilities are endless with our local libraries!!! Thank you to our Orono Public Library and Lincoln Public Library. Any animals in your life? Are you an omnivore or herbivore? Do you have a “cat in your house and a cow on your plate”?(Chris Diehm). Are you thinking about global warming? Where does the chicken on your plate come from? “The Comparative Cruelty Of Cockfighting and Happy Meals.” (Hal Herzog). I heard about Hal Herzog on an NPR Podcast - I think @nprhiddenbrain. He is considered “one of the world’s leading experts on human-animal relations.” I highly recommend you read, “Some We Love; Some We Hate; and Some We Eat: Why It’s So Hard To Think Straight About Animals.” I’ll admit, there were a few pages I simply could not read (how your chicken on your plate is raised and treated). 🤢😩 “I like pondering our relationships with animals because they tell a lot about who we are.” Marc Bekoff #nprhiddenbrain #readingisfun #summerofselfcare #camp #uptacamp #hummingbirds #halherzog #animals #philosophy #iphonephoto #relax #bekind #maine #lakelife #nurse #nutritionist #learningisfun #npr #mainepublicradio (at Lincoln, Maine) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0_LLtBAPji/?igshid=1oe1j69upiy7e
