So, I’ve been fighting pseudo-pneumonia the past few days, and haven’t had a chance to pop back up on Tumblr since I submitted my video to @tinydeskcontest about a week ago. I know that even before that, it’s been months since I’ve been on here to talk about anything aside from my cover of Premonition from Final Fantasy VIII. I’m trying to dive back into music, and social media as well, and I decided to take a leap and send in a song I’d been working on since October to NPR’s Tiny Desk, as well as release it as a single (here’s the spotify). I wrote it as a pick-me-up for myself, but since the election, friends and family who’ve heard it have—or at least they’ve told me as much—have felt cheered up amidst the quagmire of misery we’ve found ourselves in. I can only hope it continues to have that impact on anyone who should hear it. This isn’t my last effort to reach out to people through my music, and I hope that some time soon, I won’t think of how my music might be able to help people in such horrible times, but it’s where we are right now. I hope you enjoy it, I hope it makes you smile, and I hope it gets stuck in your head so as to drown out anyone who would try to stop you from fighting and standing up for what you believe in.
