Have you heard about the Rogue One reshoots? Rumor is Disney thinks it may be too dark in tone for a Star Wars movie, but I've also seen others decry the rumor for being untrue as well. If it is darker in tone that would greatly interest me.

I don’t go out of my way to find stuff for Rogue One so no I hadn’t heard. But with a bit of research - and a link provided by the admin of a Dreamwidth group I follow - it appears that the rumors of reshoots are indeed true.

That in itself is not really surprising. Today time for doing reshoots are scheduled into the post-production schedule so there’s time to tweak things. But yeah, it appears that at a screening the Disney execs wanted a “light and more bantering tone” for Rogue One, since it’s ending will be 10 minutes before A new Hope begins (boy is that going to be interesting to watch and see if they can carry off) and ANH have a very light and bantering tone, despite its darker features. (No really, they blow up a god damn planet. Leia gets tortured. Don’t tell me ANH isn’t dark.)

Plus, the levity and banter was one of the things that made TFA so popular. The execs seems to want to recapture that.

So the “darker in tone” appears true. Of course that could mean any number of things: From killing off all the lead characters to just having a very grimdark tone throughout.

Whatever it is though, it appears to be massive enough that they went and cancelled the comic. To me that indicates that the changes will be raadical enough that the comic would become a different story entirely than what we’re going to be watching on screen. So color me interested.

I'm honestly just fucking baffled how that person legit thought that 'cute headcanon' about Finn not being able to read or write was anywhere near okay, I mean I nearly wanted to fucking vomit last night reading that post, and of course, they were a Reylo. I mean you can't get much clearer than that. I'm going to take a long break from this fandom, I honestly think that was the tipping point.

I had to read that post three times before I could convince myself that someone actually wrote that and called it “cute”.

I know the Anti Blackness is strong in this fandom, but jfc.

They deleted it though they have yet to apologize, but I think I’ll let sleeping dogs lie with this. It’s not like there isn’t already enough to deal with.

Personally I’m such a stubborn bitch that shit like this just makes me want to stay and fight even more than before, but yes I can really well understand needing a break from all of this.

I like this blog, I really do. There are of course some things I disagree with, but that's to be expected. I guess this message is being sent because I've come to realize that many Anti-SJW blogs can be rather toxic, and all I really want are people who are reasonable, can sift through the bullshit, and do real activism for others by using facts and reason. Something that is sorely missing on Tumblr nowadays

5. My favorite thing to draw is eyes, I never get tired of drawing them it seems. I also really like drawing faces too I think, just to see what I can come up with.

6. Hands…I can never get them right no matter how hard I try, and sometimes the hands look way too out of proportion for the bodies I draw, I also have a hard time doing still life’s since that requires me to be patient which I’ll admit I am not. Although, I have had a few successes with it.

18. I want to say everything to be honest, but uh…I think I need to go over proportions in general, since I was never really grounded in it. I kinda think I cursed myself to draw the way I do since I never drew from RL sources, and struggle to do so now. In a sense I really wish I never started out drawing anime, or I wouldn’t feel so conflicted as I do now about drawing and whether or not I really enjoy it. 

I also want to be able to do backgrounds more, and painting digitally is something I’ve been trying to brush up on, but every time I get to a certain milestone I seem to fall behind again. It’s really not easy, and I always think I’m doing it wrong in some fashion. I can’t help it though, since it’s the only way I know how. 

24. Hmm, not really, sometimes I feel a smidgen of Envy, and instead of getting jealous I try to think what went behind each stroke that the person made, I like learning from what I see, so therefore when I see others art (especially those I consider better than mine) I try to ‘adapt’ my eyes to their art so to speak, though if I find their art to be beyond the threshold of whatever I can manage, most of the time I just feel stupefied, then kind ashamed that I probably would never be able to do the same…. :/

25. I prefer music definitely, though I find that I get really into a drawing when the music I’m playing becomes like an afterthought, like background noise. It’s kinda like you get hypnotized lol

Are any of you planning to get the demo, and if you are, will you do something of a walkthrough or a playthrough of it?

Of course! I've never been much of a let's play person, so I won't personally be posting a playthrough. I'm sure there will be no lack of them on YouTube once the demo comes out, though, so I'll find a good one to share.
