TASK ONE: INTRODUCTIONS
i. What’s your name/alias?
Hiya, I’m Gadget ! ( she / her ) ^.^
ii. Tell us about your experience roleplaying? How long have you been roleplaying? Where did you start your roleplay journey?
I’ve been in this game for what feels like a lifetime (well spent, no doubt) but what really equates to something like 10+ years?? Started way back in the day, with none other than our very own Vada! <3 We rocked it old school in high school, guys. Literal pen and paper. We passed spiral-bound notebooks back and forth between classes. It was the best. The biggest fandom we’d scribe for was Supernatural. Back in the good ol’ days. Anything past s5 is a lie. Fight me. From there, moved on to a million other fandoms and mediums. Tiny, unknown movies to Marvel/DC, shows like TW and TVD, and then some. Small, non-committal things like chatboxes/aim/skype, to invisionfree and jcink forums, and then onto the wonderful and sometimes scary world of tumblr, group and indie. *Johnny Cash voice: I’ve been everywhere man.* Oh yeah, and D&D, the original rpg, of course!
iii. What is your favorite book? Or books, I know it’s hard to just pick one!
Ummm... let’s see. I’ll say Where The Wild Things Are, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?, Flowers For Algernon, Shutter Island, Speak, The Faerie Wars Chronicles, the Percy Jackson, and of course, Harry Potter series, to name a few. I’m all over the place with fiction, genre-wise, but I also like some non-fiction, too. A Father’s Story by Lionel Dahmer is also a fave. In the spirit of true crime, but fictional, is Project Cain/Cain’s Blood. So good. I also love comic books, graphic novels, and of course, the occasional fanfic. ( ;
iv. This roleplay isn’t going to be anything like the Disney version, but if you had to pick a favorite Disney movie, which one would you pick?
For honorable mention, I’ma let you know the Marvel Cinematic Universe owns my soul, despite the questionable choices it has made. But, in true Disney fashion, my fave(s -yeah, it’s not possible to pick one of anything) are: The Aristocats, Rescuers Down Under, The Fox & the Hound (animals are the best ok) Toy Story and Monsters Inc. (absolute tops)! But, also, DCOMs are my catnip. Halloweentown, Susie Q, Zenon, Phantom of the Megaplex (the spoopier ones are pure gold!) and omg there’s too many and I’m obsessed with movies, I’m sorry I failed this question. But, yeah. :D
v. Have you ever roleplayed in Neverland before? If you, yourself, were in our darker version of Neverland, which faction would you belong in: pirates, lost boys, smallfolk, or merfolk?
I have actually rped in at least Neverland-adjacent settings, yes. Vada and I had a group forum that was for dark fairytale characters in a modern setting. Although it never got off the ground, I know I had Tink there and pretty sure any actual rping only ever occurred in the chatbox, so.. But, several years later and before realizing OUAT was not the best, I did have an indie Killian Jones/Hook here on tumblr, but that didn’t last that long either. And, hmm. Well, I can’t swim and I hate sunlight and socializing, so I don’t imagine I’d make the best mer-person. Although, I envy the life, I don’t know that I’d be the best pirate either. There’s the whole non-swimmer thing (and lemme tell ya, I’d fall off a ship more than I’d be on it) and I suck at geography and directions, physical and verbally-given ones (down with authority am I right (งಠ_ಠ)ง ) and I get confused really easily.. I’m literally Smee as a pirate. Guaranteed I’d be left to *parrot voice: mind the boat.* So, yeah. Maybe a Lost Boy, but not one that lived that long I’m sure. I’d probably just be the weird introvert Small Folk that makes ugly, useless crafts and only comes out at night and makes more sounds than speaks... This is why I have no friends... It’s Fine ™.
