I know you have endless ideas and musings for Ianthe, and based on what you laid out in the app, I am so extremely excited to see them come to fruition! It can be dangerous at the top, especially when it comes to the merfolk. ‘The island to her is akin to a chess board, one she looms over as she twirls her hair and watches the pieces move around, shifting them in her favour whenever given the opportunity. Peter, Hook, they’re all the same in the end – pawns’. I am so here for the hints of madness and gothic horror goodness that make up our merfolk leader!

As we all know, time is malleable for the sake of a fun narrative around here and I absolutely adore all the bits of history you put into shaping Tristan! ‘Despite the rich contradiction in his decision to enlist as a seaman, he’s a pacifist who hates violence and killing. He found this out a bit too late; overwhelmed by the noises, the shouting and the cannons and the explosions – let alone the guilt, the crushing agony of trying to sleep when you’ve turned a pair of eyes from ferocious to empty through a simple motion with a sword.’ I’m delighted that the Jolly Roger’s crew finally has their surgeon. I fear they’re going to need him a lot!

Not that I’m at all biased or anything, but I am so happy to have another rambunctious Lost Boy on the island! You have poured so many thoughtful details into your OC! ‘He never leaves the (tree)house without his HAT – a particularly worn, black baseball cap. There have been a few hats through the years; he hangs onto one until it completely falls apart, then replaces it. It’s kind of his subconscious security blanket’. And knowing some of the more long term arcs and plots you have planned, I can’t wait to read them as they unfold!

Fletcher is such a splendid counterbalance to all the — let’s call it ‘lively’ — Smallfolk personalities currently in play, haha. ‘While eager to learn the ways of others, their heart remains clinging to the lost culture of the Smallfolk, their mourning needing to be ever drowned out in any way they can manage’. Just like with Bones, you’ve beautifully brought to life this skeleton character, fleshing them out and staying true to their bio while also making them your own!

There have been so many depictions of Hook over the years and in ‘Lost Boy’ he’s none of those and all of them at the same time. Your app did a wonderful job of finding the balance between incorporating the mythos that is Captain Hook and creating something new and entirely your own! ‘Hook is the sound of a tsunami, not when it crashes against the shore, but the sound as it's beginning to swell and bloom in the distant pit of the ocean, miles and miles away from the visible eye’. I can’t wait to see this dark, stormy, trauma-filled, captain in action!

I know there is a certain smallfolk who is going to be positively salivating when they see that Victor will be stepping onto our little gruesome stage! I am so thrilled that you decided to apply for Victor because words simply cannot express how much I adore every single aspect of your interpretation of him. 'He is rotting from the inside out, his body turning foul and putrid as the very thing that kept him alive slowly drowns him, filling his lungs and eating him from the inside out as his body shreds itself, lesions he will never see coating his organs. And yet, despite that, he is permitted to remain on the ship, sailing it however far he can before going the other way again'. You are so masterful with gothic horror and I can't imagine anyone better suited to bring our sailing master to (a doomed) life!

Ace is such an important facet of the Lost Boys as a group and also as a mythos at large! Through reading your app, I feel like you really clocked all the different reasons why Ace is one of Peter’s favorites and why he’s been able to last on the island and thrive for so long compared to the others: ‘Ace loves Neverland and he loves the Lost Boys and he loves Peter. Losing that frightens him, but being forced to go back to the Other World is a fate worse than death, and he will do what he always has to survive’. I know you’ve already got a handful of plot ideas for Ace and I can’t wait to see them shake out!

Is there anything more ominous or chilling than distant laughter on this island?! I love your interpretation of Sawyer and the through-line of apprehension and cautious optimism in them that runs throughout your app! ‘The ocean mimics their voice, reminding them that they were not happy in the Other World- although wrong, here they had a family’. Also, I’m glad to report that your proposed connection with Cecco and the use of he/they pronouns for Sawyer have both been approved!

Having come from a more isolated and sheltered sort of environment, Nin has such a unique view of Neverland. ‘Amongst other mermaid communities, she was only vaguely aware that [legged folks] even existed, so she’s very wary of getting too close to anyone right now. Behaving a bit like a wild animal, she’ll find someone she’s interested by, inch closer, and the second they seem to notice her she’ll scuttle away’. I'm so excited to find out what sort of effect the island’s inhabitants will have on Nin!

I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll leave it to you to reveal the details, but I am beyond ecstatic about your interpretation of Echo and I can’t wait to see her in action!

Oak’s devotion to the island and his distinctive perspective of how it all works together is such a joy! ‘After all, there’s no point in keeping the Island going if the core of it, its sense of vivacity and mischief, is lost with it. Oak loves to make people smile. It tickles the part of him buried beneath ash. The fact that a grimace and a scream were so close to a smile and a laugh really just makes Oak’s job easier’. The island quite literally needs this energy!!

You have this wonderful way of digging your nails into the classic Neverland mythos and reshaping it into something lovely, gothic, and shades darker than it was first presented and I adore that about you! ‘Tick-tock goes the clock but the clock is a croc, counting down your days one by one. the reaper will come knocking with a leathery hand, claws outstretched & canines gleaming. time is death, & death is hungry’. Tick-tock’s connection with the larger-than-life croc is everything I never knew I needed!!
