part 1
"Care to make a bet?" Adelheid asked. Ed eyed her warily, knowing from experience that the 'innocent' smile on his sister's face was anything but innocent.
"Depends on the bet." He hedged.
"If I win, I'm asking Lieutenant Havoc on a date tonight, and you aren't allowed to even threaten him." Ed choked on air, and Adel's smile widened into something much more mischievous. "At all, Ed. Not before, not after."
Edward shot a blistering glare towards the sidelines, where a certain blond chain smoker was looking rather like someone slapped him with a fish. So this wasn't Havoc's idea.
"Why him?" He was not whining, dammit!
"Well, if you really want to know-"
"Erk! No!" Ed's face burned, and Adelheid laughed. Fucking hell, Ed didn't know who was worse: Adelheid or Al.
Still, like hell Ed was letting anyone go on a date with his sister! Especially not someone Ed had to work with! "And if I win?"
"I figured you'd like to take a peak at my journals." Ed straightened. Adel's journals. Adel's Xerxesian journals. The ones she'd written up when that bastard Hohenheim was still around. It was written in Xerxesian, which Adel hadn't started teaching them until after she came back from Ishval - and where the hell did that bastard learn Xerxesian, because it sure as hell wasn't Mom that taught Adel the language - and even after they could read them Adel hadn't let them read the journals. She went as far as putting an alchemical lock on the journals so only she could open them, which derailed his and Al's plans to read them behind her back.
Keeping Havoc from going on a date with his sister and getting to read Adel's journals? Count him in. Ed settled into a ready stance. "I hope you're ready to lose.”
Adel laughed, and beckoned him with two fingers. "Bring it, little brother."
For fuck’s sake-! “I’m not little!”
@greygryffindor because she keeps digging me deeper into this with every TGS update despite the fact that I should be working on other shit.
