The Leaving Song
After his talk with Damien last season, Ray is looking at everything he’s brought through space and time. We see him being knighted in Camelot, dinosaur figurines, and many other things that call back old episodes – all in a glass case because they’re important to him. Also in the case is a framed picture of Nate. Nora wakes up while Ray is looking at everything and they talk. Ray suggests they leave the Legends. She can’t work from the ship and they can’t start a life together when he has a foot literally in the past. It’s official. Ray Palmer is leaving the Legends – after one final mission with the team.
This isn’t the only change in the Waverunner though. Since Zari came aboard, it seems that wait times for the bathroom in the morning are up. The Legends all gather outside the bathroom. Charlie, seeing the opportunity, tells the Legends that she told John they’d help him look for the Loom of Fate, but Sara reminds of a team rule: No McGuffin talk before breakfast. Nora and Ray also see this opportunity and begin to tell everyone their news, but Mick beats him to the punch. It makes sense that they’d move out. They are married.
Ava brings up the bigger concern in Ray’s leaving: how is he going to tell Nate?
