Brendan Reichs is telling this hilarious story about how someone wrote an Amazon review on his fourth book in a series. it had 1/5 stars and all it said was “my first and last book.” There’s so much to talk about there. why did he start with the second to last book in a series? Brendan Reichs had one chance with this guy and he failed him so badly that he’ll never read again. amazing
I love this story Jessica Brody tells about how when she was writing the Unremembered trilogy, her publisher(? I think) was like "yea ur trilogy is gr8 but everyone actually wants four books right now because this one vampire series had four and it was really popular" and she was just like "oh! Okay" and split apart book two and and stole stuff from book three and just moved things around so she could pitch it as four books. then when she gave it to her editor, her editor was like "this is really good, but it kinda only feels like three books...?"
so we're like 5 minutes from this hifi scifi panel starting and the whole room is PACKED like they're asking ppl to leave bc there aren't enough seats
