Hello, friends! I’ve been sitting on these two palettes and finally realized I never actually reviewed them. And with theBalm’s new release of the Nude Beach palette, it seems like a good time to take a look at the well-loved originals. Nude ‘Tude This is the original nude palette from theBalm. It has 12 shades organized from light to medium to dark across the palette. There are 4 mattes, 6…

Heres a rundown of what I own (Mary Lou Manizer, Nude Tude, and Meet Matte Nude) and how I feel about them (you can look up swatches yourself lol). My skintone is medium-light I use Rimmel BB cream in light for a reference.
Mary Lou Manizer
A classic. Great champagne highlighter. If you own one you do not need another one. However, this one is v. intense and I always take it while traveling bc it’s packaging has the most convenient mirror it just stays at the perfect angle for on the go makeup. It’s also a multi tasker because you can use it to highlight your inner corner.
Nude Tude
This was my first makeup palette so I am nostalgic. A rundown of all the colors- Sassy is probably the best and brightest white eyeshadow I own. I really love the gold (snobby) as well. It’s not yellowy or orangey-it’s a blondish gold. I can’t tell the two pinks(stubborn & standoffish) apart. One is more glittery(stand-offish) but they’re just shiney pinks. Nice pinks though. The sparkly greyish brown color(selfish) always looks so pretty in the pan and beautiful swatched but I find that it is too cool-toned for me to wear on my eyes. The matte light brown is amazing. Haven’t used sophisticated much. I don’t know why. Seductive is good. The warm darker brown color (sexy) is nice but it doesn’t go well with a lot of the colors in the palette. The deep brown with chunks of glitter(silly) has only grown on me since I started to use dark sparkly eyeshadows as liners to get rid of dark sparkly eyeshadows... they don’t seem really usable in other contexts? The black eyeshadow is a black eyeshadow. I’m sure we all have 20 of these at this point. I like the deep brown eyeshadow (sleek). The double sided brush has a nice liner end... not sure if they still include it since I bought this many years ago. Overall, I like the palette there are some amazing shades that I cant get anywhere else but I don’t really use it for an everyday look anymore. I think my main issue is that it only has one lighter matte color which makes buffing things out kind of a pain. I don’t find the palette really cohesive but that could also be worded into saying that it has a lot of variety. It dips its toes into almost every type of (glittery) neutral there is- goldish, roseish, reddish, greyish, and brownish but it also means that sometimes the eyeshadows will clash.
Meet Matte Nude
I love the eyeshadow quality for all the shadows but I don’t find all of them usable for me. It’s a good mix of warm toned and cool toned eyeshadow- which means half of them look ugly on me. Greys look so pretty in the palette and swatched, but they look ugly with the rest of my face unless I really go for it. This has the same problem as Nude Tude where I wish there were more lighter or mid-toned neutrals for me to blend with. The only ones here are Matt Singh which is still a bit peachy and the yellow which is... yellow. Also, although the browns look different, they are essentially the same once they are on my eye. However, I will say that the white eyeshadow in this palette is fan*tas*tic.

Hi friends! Today’s post is one I’m really excited to write about, as I had a lot of fun researching and taking notes for it and it came as a request from my dear friend Kaily from Hello Kaily! She asked for a comparison between Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette and theBalm’s Nude Dude and Nude ‘Tude, and Coastal Scents’ Revealed 3 palettes, which I was more than happy to provide! Let’s start by…
