âŠyou have too much time on your âŠHANDS.
what compelled you to do this
Humans have been compelled to do this for thousands of years
I doubt this will get much traction on here, but Puerto Ricoâs governor has just passed CĂłdigo Civil (Civil Code) that has loopholes regarding womenâs and LGBT+ rights. This code was passed despite activistsâ call for a veto, and was intentionally speedily passed so that public hearings would not take place
In a nutshell, womenâs bodily autonomy has the potential to be restricted which can take away their right to abortions, and the discrimination bans against the LGBT+ community are able to be overridden.Â
5 trans people have died violently in Puerto Rico since the beginning of 2020.Â
I ask my followers and mutuals to please reblog. There is so much going on in America today and this is one thing to add. There are protests for #BlackLivesMatter in Puerto Rico and a significant black community there. As an Afro Latina and a member of the LGBT community, I ask you to spread this and help.
If you could trace mass incarceration and the modern militarization of the police back to one man, it would be Joe Biden. And yet liberals think electing him is the best way to solve the problem
Biden personally wrote the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 (better known as the Biden Crime Law), which he bragged about on the Senate floor like so: âIt provides 53 death-penalty offenses⊠We do everything but hang people for jaywalking in this billâ
The bill authorized the hiring of 100,000 more police officers across the US, allocated tons of money for building new prisons, introduced the âthree-strikesâ rule for repeat offenders, specifically prohibited inmates from qualifying for Pell Grants, introduced many mandatory minimum sentences, and offered increased prison funding to states that provide âsufficiently severe punishmentâ for violent offenders (explicitly âincluding violent juvenile offendersâ) and ensured that all convicts serve at least 85% of their initial conviction - among other things
Biden was all but the face for âtough on crimeâ in the Senate at the time, and has played a massive hand in the modern state of the police and prison system even outside of this one piece of legislation. He still stands by the bill to this day, and he very recently stated he doesnât intend to take any steps to defund the police
Donât count on Biden to fix this shit. He isnât going to. If we want change, weâre gonna have to find it elsewhere
did i ever tell u all that when i was 15 i went on a school trip to see romeo and juliet at the globe but my teacher didnât realise until after heâd booked it that it was a ~sexy~ version with bdsm in it
ok people wanted the whole story here are the most Memorable Momentsâąïž
âąthe production made a lot of people very very angry and the reviews were calling it âa desecration of shakespeareâ , other people said it was akin to vandalism
âąa warning letter had to be sent home to parents because it was too late to cancel the booking
âąall the teachers there looked like they wanted to die cause we were 13-15 years old lmaoo
âąthe play opened with really aggressive confetti cannons and in the centre of the stage there was this really muscled guy wearing almost nothing and there were four women in essentially lingerie just.. gyrating over him
âąthis had nothing to do with the plot by the way it was just there
âąweâre only five minutes in and i think the teachers were considering evacuating us
âąromeoâs dad is in an inflatable dinosaur costume for an entire scene.. no context was given
âąiâve blocked the actual sex scene out of my memory
âąi might have imagined this but in the masked ball scene i swear someone was in full bdsm gear i SWEAR
âąmercutio was played by a woman and just started stripping during a monologue which was an Experience
âąlots and lots of twerking from background actors
âąromeo was just dressed like an emo the whole time
for any doubters hereâs an excerpt from an article on it ! by the financial times for some reason
This is 100% what Shakespeare would have wanted
it really fucking is
Oh no...
Do you think he'd wear it in bed? đ
HE DID!!
âItâs not just a role to him. He wanted, for instance, for the armour to look like it had been worn for years and years. So he made breakfast in it and he would sleep in it.â (And this is a guy who literally played Superman.)
Cavill was method acting, but he wasnât being mean or putting dead rats everywhere, so no one noticed.
Cavill, like the rest of us born in the â80s, got to watch the LOTR films as a teenager and hear about Viggo Mortensen spending the night camping in his costume on location shoots and fishing for his breakfast and just generally existing as Strider... and went âOh. Thatâs cool.â
And now here he is...

the world is a better place with trans women in it. trans women are valuable and important members of our communities. trans women deserve safety and protection and love.
Iâm tired of rich people spreading positivity in times of crisis. SPREAD SOME FUCKING FUNDS.
I 100% agree with EVERYTHING Laura Bailey says here, just keep in mind VA's rarely get anything more than a name & a vague outline of the character & their arc before they're asked to do the V.O recording. Images of character art are usually done after.
There was actually a strike a few years ago when VO artists wanted to know more about the characters they were voicing to avoid exactly this sort of situation. They did not win that demand.
i dont understand why you wouldnât tell the VAâs more about who theyâre voicing if you want the best possible voice acting for your characters, like, everybody loses.
They donât tell VAâs about the characters theyâre voicing so they can avoid giving them a fair deal on their pay.
At one point - Iâll see if i can find the video - Marisha Ray talked about being booked for a session and her agent negotiating blind for what seemed like a pretty good amount. Marisha went in and found out that she was voicing random storm troopers in Star Wars Battlefront and that what had seemed like a fair deal turned out to be them almost completely ripping her off. Thatâs one example of them not paying.
Another reason Iâve heard is so the actor isnât really given a chance to say no to the gig without having to break a contract that theyâd made before hand.
Actors and Actresses have been booked for gigs where they end up voicing prostitutes, racists, etc without being told prior to stepping into the booth.Â
This is the case for relatively big voice actors who are well-known and regarded in the industry. I canât imagine how much more this happens for lesser known VOâs.Â
Yeah voice actors are sometimes dropped into roles such as âbeloved character weâve recast because we fired the original actor, the fans will be furious and send you hateful messages, but not us because weâre not big on social media, so have fun!â or âhere do some stunts for mocap with insufficient padding and no safety coordinator on set, and you have no health insurance!â or âfamous character weâre way underpaying you for because you have no idea what franchise this is for.â  Â
They were also striking to spread out screaming sessions so they didnât scream for hours at a time until their throats bled.Â
Screen actors have pretty bad protections at best but voice actors have even less than that. The more things blend, the more advanced video games get, the more important this is.Â
After seeing the tiktok of the landlord bragging sheâs hoarding her tenantsâ packages for paid rent, seeing the landlords who ran their tenantsâ social security numbers to check for their stimulus checks, etcâŠÂ
Do landlords think that theyâre above the law, or are they just so fucking clueless and stupid that they donât realize theyâre admitting in writing/online interactions that theyâre committing federal offenses?Â
iâd say both
Rich people donât think the law applies to them because in most cases it doesnât.
Ayeeee
Adorable, beautiful magic

someone: capitalism is a rational economic system
a bank: hi i noticed you donât have any money in your account, so Iâm going to charge you an additional $30 for not having any money
Antisemitic post.
iâm literally a jew
Internalized anti semitism is a thing you know.
[Photo ID: An expanding brain meme with four levels. The first level says âthe jews control the banksâ. The second says âjewish control over banks is an antisemitic conspiracyâ. The third says âantisemitism is the socialism of fools, and the idea of jewish control over banks is just another way to redirect justified anger at the capitalist class toward an ethnic minority, a tradition dating back to the medieval âcourt jewââ. The fourth and final level says âcriticizing banks is antisemitic because the jews control themâ /end ID]
brazilian government thinking abt leaving the world health org in the middle of a pandemicâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ deleting the deaths/infected numbers from official websitesâŠâŠâŠâŠ. pretending brazil isnt the #2 country w the most infected rnâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ. 600k+ ppl infectedâŠâŠ. nearly 1k deaths A DAY!âŠâŠ.. iâm gonna cry
i wasnât gonna make this post a big of a deal but i was thinking and⊠please pay attention to brazil.Â
most cities are either going back to ânormalâ (re-opening business, public transportation, parks/beaches) or, like sĂŁo paulo and rio, they never went fully quarantined. those are also the most dense cities in brazil, and⊠the cities with the most cases. not to mention that brazil is one of the countries that is doing the least amount of tests in the population. so, 600k is not even half of it.
we are reaching 30 days without a health minister because the last two were fired directly by the president, when they were doing according to what the world health org said.

with the blm movement news spreading, the main cities in brazil are organizing/organized protests in support, only to be faced with police brutality and violence;Â
https://www.hrw.org/news/2020/06/03/brazil-suffers-its-own-scourge-police-brutality âTo put that in perspective, imagine police in the United States killing at a similar rate; they would be responsible for more than 36,000 deaths each year. Instead, US police shoot and kill about 1,000 people per year.â
some politicians are also trying to pass another law that would put antifas in the same category as terrorists.
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2020/06/06/bras-j06.html âBrazilian President Jair Bolsonaro once again denounced demonstrators joining marches in five Brazilian cities held in solidarity with the protests in United States as âterroristsâ and âoutcastsâ aiming to âbreak the country.â
not to mention that deforastation is taking its peak as we speak right now. rodrigo salles, our environment minister, said that âwe should take advantage of covid to loosen the anti-deforastation lawsâ

https://news.mongabay.com/2020/05/brazil-minister-advises-using-covid-19-to-distract-from-amazon-deregulation/
âIn a Brazilian cabinet meeting Environment Minister Ricardo Salles was caught on video declaring that the COVID-19 pandemic which has killed more than 23,000 of his fellow citizens offers a distraction during which the government can ârun the cattle herdâ through the Amazon, âchanging all the rules and simplifying standards.â
so, i know things are getting hard for everyone. but please, pay attention to whatâs happening in brazil.
On twitter Iâm seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.
On tumblr Iâm seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.
Be careful who you get your information from. Donât let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.
