Nobody of Any Particular Importance nodded along as his newest fleeting companion gave him a crash course in identity masking online. While he could not have needed such information less, for it's intended purpose, his conversational partner seemed to be enjoying themself, and he hoped, knowingly in vain, that they might remember just a little more than everyone else, just this once, if the vague impressions he left were pleasant. Besides, while Nobody could not be located, his friends, of all varieties, could, and sometimes, his immediate goals ran at odds with those of his otherwise amicable relations.
Getting even the slightest of advantages, however briefly, could change the landscape of the game board incalculably. Knowing this, he spoke, "You, my new friend, have helped me more than either of us could know just yet."
The person sitting next to him rubbed the back of their head, "I don't think so, man, it's pretty surface-level for security."
"Perhaps for now, my young friend." As he spoke, he began heading towards the back of the small public library, knowing the new friend he had made would see him disappear, and knowing they would be rejected by the keeper of the doorway he would be using.
Not that they would remember why they tried in the first place, and they might not know why they were rejected. That would be a lesson for this wet behind the ears inductee to the anomalous world to sort, however.
