Hi Bear and friends! One of the NN here. I've been watching different sets of numbers and I agree with you. Blake is doing just fine but he could be doing a whole lot better than fine if he puts in a bit more effort into self promo. But that doesn't seem to be a priority with him these days so I'll just keep on supporting him whichever way I can.
OK onto some numbers to cheer people up a bit in the meantime.
Texoma Shore. Roughstock hasn't updated for several weeks now so I don't have exact sales numbers.
TS dropped out of BB200 (all genre, sales+streaming) the week after Grammys as Grammy nominated albums mostly make a comeback.
This week it is back in at #177. It’s #69 in the Top Album Sales chart, 3 months after its release. TS is #22 and Reloaded #45 Top Country Album. Given total absence of promo, we can say B is doing fine but yes it could be SO much better.
Singles. I Lived It is off to a sluggish start, primarily because B and WMN hasn't done anything to promote it. AT ALL. I didn't see any mention in BB or aircheck weekly and B definitely hasn't tweeted about it. It’s mostly in the 380-430 rank wise on livepopbars and not doing anything on Spotify. INTD this week dropped off the Hot 100 chart and off both Airplay and MB charts since 1/2 weeks ago but is still one of the most played recurrent songs. It’s still selling and streaming decently and a good #20 on Hot Country Songs (airplay+sales+streaming).
I'm reasonably sure INTD qualifies for Gold already but WMN doesn't seem to be in a hurry to do any certifications for B so whatever.
For the record, Neon Light, Lonely Tonight and CHTF should all be Platinum now and Sangria 2xP. AGWAG is way past Gold and I do see it possible in the future (not immediate) that AGWAG will go Platinum before SGAWW because of stronger streaming. I think EIHTS is very close to Gold.
Tours. Wow this spring tour is going to be lit for B. He definitely picked the right combo of friends to tour with. They included a few smaller arenas (10-14,000 capacity) which are mostly all sold out except for singles and resales. You can see B's strength is the big arenas. All the lower level seats are long gone. The nosebleeds are less popular, the seats with obstructed views (behind and side stage) sell better although they cost more. None have sold out yet simply because they keep opening more seats as they sell.
Interestingly, right after B tweeted about his Scavenger Hunt, people seemed to suddenly realize B is on tour, and within hours the additional 360 seats they had opened up behind stage 6 days ago in Tulsa were snapped up. They have now opened up 600 more seats further back behind stage at $53. See what B can do if he would only use sm a bit more!
So to wrap it all up, yes B is doing just fine. And yes, he could do a whole lot better than fine. But I'm here as a fan and I want to enjoy the ride, so I'm not going to let that frustrate me or "embarrass" me, just gonna sit back and enjoy the moments - of which they there will be plenty as B kicks off his tour with rehearsals at Ole Red. In the meantime, I'm still streaming streaming - and even watching (occasionally) the weird throwback dance series on youtube lmao. #TrueFan
Thank you number nerd for your updates. Always appreciative of you and other number nerds that stop by to share.
And thank you for being the voice of reason, let’s remember (myself included) to enjoy the ride and support B as much as we can via streaming, requesting, etc. We want TS to be a hit but it’s out of our hands so let’s remember our chill and try to keep our frustrations on the low down. Venting from time to time is ok :P
