Realization I'm not sure I've had about this hallway before - but in Japanese, people often can use the numbers as homonyms to spell out phrases - so like if someone used 8 (eight) as a homonym stand-in for "ate".

はち (hachi) is how 8 is read in Japanese - BUT, it can be abbreviated in certain cases to just は (ha)
