A project run by Numen/For Use and Federation Square was a structure of immense size made with just the simple and easily available sticky tape that we tend to use without much thought and on a daily basis. The project showcased the incredible tensile strength of the material by creating a playful, interactive, gorgeous and extremely organic looking pavilion.
As a volunteer with not much physical ability, I was put in charge of arranging the roster for both the building stage as well as the exhibition stage of Tape. The build ran for a total of 8 days, and the exhibition ran for 2 weeks in 2011.
This, however was not my only job description. I was also tasked with making sure all volunteers were checked in for the day, liaised with federation square security and ground staff to make sure everything was in order and checked in with the project heads with the progress reports if they weren’t on site.

(Snapchat: #paarchitecture ) Numen/For Use inflates interactive net blow-up in #yokohama #japan #crotian #austrian #design #collective . Numen/For Use's Net Blow up is a further development of the Net project both in means of construction and appearance. The object is inflated till the outer surface reaches adequate tension for stretching the nets connected on the inner side of the object. This construction excludes any use of additional structure. The result is a soft object which deforms and mutates with every movement of its temporary inhabitants. The outer membrane acts both like a “soft box” diffuser of the outside light, or a projection screen in case of inner illumination of the installation.
