Incorporating numerancy into your practice
This post is specifically for people who are familiar with tarot, but not with numerancy.
Ever thought to try throwing dice but don't know where to get started? Well you've come to the right place my friend, because me too. Throwing dice is a common divination practice, but there's a million ways to do it. So here's a beginner's way to get started on it if you're already familiar with tarot cards (or any other type of cartomancy).
Step one: Get 4 dice. You can use any amount but I only have they key up to 18, so that'll be our limit for now. You can obviously always use less dice, too.
Step two: Grab your tarot deck or whatever card deck you'd usually use for divination.
Step three: ask your question as you usually would for a tarot reading
Step four: shuffle and pull cards. Put them down in a raster. You can do 3x3 or 4x4 or however small or big you'd like it to be for the start. Make sure the edges touch so there are no bigger free spaces between the cards
Step five: grab your dice, shake them and then just throw them over the cards you splayed out
Interpretation:
If any dice fell on no card, you don't count them. The cards with no dice also don't count.
Now, you combine the meaning of the number with the meaning of the card it landed on to get a very accurate answer. If two or more dice landed on the same card, you add them up. If a dice landed on multiple cards, you count all of them (as you see fit). If a dice is only halfway on a card, you count it but take it into consideration.
