After reading the post about the choice between [Mana] and [Magic Power] i ended up wondering among [Midday Tryst] & [Midday Rendezvous] and [Sound Transmission] & [Telepathy] which terms are correct? Could the latter have a case like [Mana] and [Magic power]? And lastly, does [Sound Transmission] allow you to address multiple people like [Midday Tryst] (when added) or is it more of a one on one?
For Midday Tryst and Rendezvous, both are technically correct because the word translates into "a secret meeting", but the former is more correct. The raw word is used in the romance genre, and has pretty clear romantic connotations. "Tryst" is more appropriate than "Rendezvous", which is more of a neutral word in comparison.
For Sound Transmission and Telepathy, both are also technically correct. The raw word has been translated to both, and they function in similar fashions. But they are not functionally the same, from what we can gather. Part of it is because the raw word is a type of martial art technique, much like sword aura. The other part is because (at least in English) "psychic abilities" don't usually mean "magical".
Both Sound Transmission and Telepathy allow the user to speak directly to someone, but the difference is that "Telepathy" is normally associate with "psychic abilities", which one can see as "magic" but is generally seen to be something separate from magic. Telepathy projects the user's thoughts directly into someone else's brain, making it sound like their own thoughts. It doesn't require using the voice, and has no "sound" to be heard with the ear.
"Sound Transmission" uses qi (a vital force traditionally believed to be a part of all living entities) to send sound or voice waves secretly to another person. They are physically heard with the ear, not the mind, as actual sound waves travel through the air (think about how sound waves work in science). But the qi makes it so the sound waves ONLY go toward the target and does not enter anyone else's ears. The receiver(s) are literally hearing the voices with their ears, not just having them appear in the brain like thoughts.
As such, "Sound Transmission" is the correct term here.
The "Midday Tryst" functions like a group chat on a subscription service. Multiple people can be added to the group chat (most likely at a higher premium), but still looks and acts similar to a chat room. From what we can tell, there's a pop up screen and everything, kind of like personal system messages. Meaning, they can see and hear them. Whoever is in the chatroom, stays in the chatroom. If they can be removed, we haven't seen it to tell for sure.
From what we can tell "Sound Transmission" is speaking, but uses qi (Magic Power) to direct who hears it. So, you can direct your voice to multiple people if you want to, or to just one person. It's completely user-guided. There are no visuals with it because of the functionality.
