Going With The Flow

Just a quick post about the magic of the present moment. I could not have planned such a fun, educational lesson even if I had tried. We went outside after lunch, it was warm and sunny, the snow was melting fast. Theo started to dig the ice out and discovered a little lake! It was about 3 inches deep, which is pretty much heaven for a 5 year old with rain boots! First, he learned about the properties of water (melting, evaporation). Then, he learned how water pools at the lowest level. And finally, he got his little red boat and asked many great questions regarding buoyancy. He filled the boat with ice and found the sinking point of his ship! I love how fun-filled lessons can just instantly pop up like this when we allow ourselves to "go with the flow!" When we nurture our curiosity, everything has the potential of becoming fascinating!
