Some art I did a bit ago of Dolly because I wanted to test my abilities (and patience) and draw all her braids myself.

A Dolly doodle because she popped into my head today and I felt like tinkering with her braids so they flow better with my hand.

I need to stop forcing myself to color all my sketches.

Anyways, here's Dolly and Rattle dancing with Rattle try to keep it cool and failing terribly. I used actual ballet poses as refs for this because there ain't no way in hell I could draw these from pure scratch.

I wanna keep her simple like the older magical girl series designs that had straight to the point outfits…Also to save my hand

HAVE A DOLLY

I decided it'd be fun to make her a bit more toony in the face so she wasn't just another pretty girl. Especially since the origin story of her going from Dahlia to Dolly means she has a BIG ol' grin.

I also added frills to her arm cuffs just because they look nicer.

I am such a sucker for characters with crushes. ESPECIALLY if they are in horrific denial about their feelings.

And Rattle, being on the opposing side of Dolly, is in a denial deeper than the Mariana trench.

I GOT ONE MORE MAGICAL GIRL DESIGN IN ME ☝🏾

TBH The only thing keeping me interested in 'em is basing them off things from my childhood. When I was a kid, every December, I'd get to see the Nutcracker ballet.

This magical girl (and the rat villain beside her) is based off this nostalgia of mine.

Their dynamic is different from Bitterbat and Sweetheart's though because the rat fella is hella stubborn and refuses to acknowledge he is crushing because he's got EVIL TO DO while dolly is focused on protecting toyland.
