I’m so huge brained for making the first real setting in my comic be “massive barren snowfield” because I got away with “blank white void” backgrounds for like twenty pages.

Unfortunately now I have to draw a Russian kremlin gingerbread house inspired military outpost and I’m FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ANGLES

I gave my protag Clara a scrunchie on her wrist as part of her design because I wanted her to be able to pull her long hair back rather than always having to keep it down and rely on defying gravity and physics during fights

This has become an issue as I don’t know my fucking right from my left and said scrunchie keeps teleporting from wrist to wrist with no warning

I’ve finished three chapters of my comic!!!!!

My characters look more and more like themselves with every panel that goes by. It’s like settling in to my own style! Very cool

I had been approaching it from an anime watcher’s perspective instead of a manga reader perspective, including more detail than I should! I’ve been studying some good comics and manga to try to get a feel for what to include and what to leave out, because I believe you can’t make good art unless you look at good art.

I have developed an extremely strong superiority complex over people who use AI because of this. I could have had three chapters of this done in like two days if I would have just chucked my ideas into the slop machine and let it do it for me. But if I did that, I’d never have developed the skills I have now! And it would suck ass. Like it sucks now but in a beautiful, special way.

Also I hate foreshortening. That’s all
