Brain Food!! I started studying for a new certification this week and it reminded me just how important our nutrition is for our BRAIN! We often think about food just for our body structure, but the QUALITY of food we eat impacts our MIND as well! That's why I love that I can easily build a #nutrientbased plate without measuring, counting, or obsessing. I simply fill up my plate with as many colors as possible (green + colored veg should take up 2/3 of the plate). Cut up some lean protein (I chose a turkey meatball from Whole Foods and a couple hard boiled eggs) for about 1/4 of the plate. And add in a dollop of fat (guacamole) and a moderate of starchy carbs (a few Mary's Gone Crackers) for the last 1/8 of the plate which works best for my body type. Here's some more tips on foods that boost your BRAINZ too!: --Foods High in Vitamin E (dark leafy greens, seeds, nuts, vegetable oil, avocado, whole grains) --Omega-3 Fatty Acids (salmon, tuna, egg YOLK) --Folate (dark leafy greens, broccoli, kale, collard greens, spinach). Another thing to help you brain is, of course, EXERCISE and de-stressing. So nice leisure strolls after some studying and eating is in ORDER for today!
