“Don’t use your fucking teeth.” A general tip isn’t it? And that look on his face is amused. “Why are you asking? Jonathan asking to see that pretty mouth of yours around him or some shit?”
"Listen to me, asking for favors. As if I were your friend." Actually, Dustin considered Nancy a friend, but he didn't know if the response was mutual.
And before she even gets to finish what she’s saying Billy’s interrupting her. “I didn’t ask you to do that.” Defiant isn’t he? Even when things between them aren’t as strained as they could be. Not even two weeks ago he had called Nancy Wheeler a bitch to Steve’s face. Just another bitch in the sea and honestly he feels that way about a bunch of girls. The fact of the matter is that Nancy isn’t his type, but that for everyone outside of this conversation right now would kill to be Nancy, standing this close to Billy. “But you better be careful, Nancy-- people might start thinking you like me.” And Tommy had a big mouth so he knows what happened last time Nancy was hanging out with more than one guy. “People might start to think you’re whoring around again.”

@nvrdoubt said: meta + wardrobe. send me meta + a word for me to write a meta about it
Okay so first things first, I will not be talking about season three very much in this post because he never has a wardrobe change except for the literal one minute twenty second scene during the last episode of season three. i think we were robbed of some really iconic outfits -- but nope -- we were forced to deal with scoops steve for entirely too long in my opinion.
With that out of the way, his wardrobe changes A LOT between seasons one and two. There are very -- subtle changes but they’re still significant and I have a very strong opinion on the way he dresses and the way the costume department chose the colors and stuff that he wore.
In the beginning of season one, he dresses very much like the preppy jock that we’re supposed to think that he is. He dresses like he came straight out of a Macy’s catalog, and that’s intentional. A lot of the colors he wears during the first half of season one are bright while still being masculine -- he wears a lot of collared shirts and his one dark colored members only jacket.
Now, I headcanon the reasoning behind the bright colors and stuff is because since his mother was home during this brief period of time -- she was picking out his clothes. She does this everytime she’s home because she does not believe that Steve knows how to dress himself or color coordinate.
Moving into the last half of season one the colors HE chooses to wear are a little darker, still paired with his dark members only jacket. This color change is really important because it happens right around the time that he and Nancy start having problems in season one. It signals a lot about the kind of state of mind he’s in, and it’s probably the first time in the show that he’s wearing something that his mom didn’t pick out for him.
We begin season two with a lot of the same. He’s still wearing darker -- more muted colors in the first two episodes, and by episode six we get the iconic gray members only jacket with the dark blue shirt underneath. I don’t think there’s any real big significance to this particular outfit, other than the fact that the members only jacket is probably the only one he’s ever bought himself.
The next wardrobe change we get is the night of the snowball. He’s wearing a dark red sweater. It’s the exact same color as the shirt that Billy wore during their fight scene -- and I think that was pretty intentional as far as the very subtle hints that we got in regards to Steve and Billy’s relationship. It’s also pretty significant to my Steve in particular because the night of the snowball is the first night that Billy and Steve spend together.
The only outfit we’re going to talk about from season three is the very last one and it’s probably Steve’s most iconic outfit. It’s very heavily based off of Marty Mcfly’s outfit from Back To The Future, and with the hints that we’ve gotten as far as season four being based around time travel and stuff -- i think it was an even bigger hint to the future and the possible plotline of season four. It’s also the brightest outfit Steve has ever worn, and honestly I hope we get more of that in season four -- because if we get another season of Steve being stuck in one outfit I may actually combust.
All in all, a lot of his wardrobe is just typical preppy stuff that his parents bought him -- and a lot of what he wears in season one was picked out by his mom. I’d really like to see them give Steve some more wiggle room as far as fashion goes now that he’s older and not a teenager anymore. More importantly I just really hope they put Steve in a crop top -- I would pay the duffel bags actual money for Steve Harrington in a crop top.
there was a GENERAL RULE when infiltrating the general populous, and though he WAS NOT and WOULD NEVER be on another mission other than his own, the rule STILL stood. do as LITTLE as possible to stand out from others and never reveal your abilities to anyone. in MOST other cities, free found himself complying with it. he didn’t need any unwanted attention, nor did he need anyone asking questions. but hawkins was DIFFERENT, and the people were EXCEPTIONS.
it was by CHANCE that he was standing near the entrance of the hawkins post as the employees were leaving for the day. a young woman came out and some of the older men followed, seeming to HECKLE her before parting ways. though he knew not the CONTEXT from which it was being done, free felt something IRK at him. with a drop of his shades and a flick of the finger, SMOKE appeared around the ankles of one of the men, solidifying and tripping him so he FACEPLANTED on the sidewalk. the smoke was gone as soon as it came, and though that brought the attention of the young woman, free was satisfied with the overall result. “ i don’t know WHAT you’re talking about. ”

“Mmm...” Looking over Hawkins from here is-- weird. Everything looks small, and you can tell where the strict households with curfews where. Another sip from the lukewarm beer can but he can’t complain because Nancy’s trying her best. “Don’t think it’ll as satisfying as you think it would be.”
