"who   does   father   plan   to   leave   driftmark   for?"   he   seems   to   think   neither   joffrey   or   her   girls   are   worthy   of   the   title   and   he   never   thought   of   her   as   heir   to   driftmark   either.   it   makes   sense   it   would   pass   to   laenor's   children   but   he   seems   to   refuse   the   idea   all   together.   she   stares   at   seasmoke   by   the   bay,   restless,   something   bothering   the   dragon   and   laena   wishes   to   know   what.  

it's   no   good   news,   perhaps   the   dragon   wishes   to   be   bonded,   and   it's   searching   for   a   new   mount,   however   much   that   hurts.   "daemon   has   send   word   this   morning.   he   has   taken   harrenhal."   now   the   matter   of   taking   the   riverlands   was   only   a   matter   of   organizing   tropes.   at   least   that   would   make   rhaenyra   more   at   ease,   but   she   never   doubted   their   her   husband. @nvrqn

House Targaryen left DECIMATED in the aftermath of the war, only a few direct descendants left scattered and only one still that could claim the name yet. Sitting on the throne of Dragonstone, she couldn't help the question; to watch her own family be slaughtered and to still be so bound to the man that had claimed the throne in the aftermath. While she was sure there was true heart ache in the older woman, that she had had no DESIRE to stand back, such things couldn't go on unanswered. Not here, not now, in the halls where her ancestors once stood strong.

Her lips pursed, eyes only on Rhaenys. There were a thousand things she could say, a thousand questions she could ask; the only stories she had had of her House growing up were corrupted or so she suspected. Of how her father had been unjustly dethroned, as if he had done nothing so VILE. ❝  ——I make no apologies for my father. While I intend to take the throne, it shall not be as he did. @nvrqn ⸻ Daemon   stood   near   the   edge   of   the   dragonpit,he   had   left   most   of   his   armor   outside   but   he   was   still   with   dark   sister   attached   to   his   side   and   a   brush   to   remove   the   dust   and   old   scales   from   Caraxes.   It   is   rare   to   watch   him   relax   or   smile   at   anything,   but   Caraxes'   long   neck   shakes   to   remove   the   scales   and   he   manages   a   smile,   the   gentle   screech,   so   distinct   of   his   dragon   causing   him   to   whisper   words   of   encouragement   in   valyrian.  

And   yet   he   felt   a   sense   of   eagerness   and   anticipation   to   join   the   fight.   He   was   waiting   for   what   would   come   to   him,   after   the   news   of   blood   and   cheese   arrived.   He   knows   the   deal;   exile,   or   at   least   in   Harrenhal   he   will   be   useful.   At   the   sight   of   his   cousin,   he   decides   to   not   speak   of   the   event   itself   and   rather,   focus   on   what   he   does   best.   "Baela   is   a   dragonrider,   she   could   be   a   valuable   asset   in   the   battle   and   Jacaerys   said   he   will   help   train   her.   And   Rhaena,   she   will   be   send   to   the   Vale   per   Lady   Arryn's   request   with   a   clutch   of   eggs."

there  is  a  smile  place  on  his  lips,  a  knowing  one  at  that  as  he  adjust  himself  on  the  edge  of  the  bed,  the  words  a  mere  pleasantry,  he  is  sure.  "is  that  what  we  call  it  these  days?  tired?"  he  is  aware  that  he  looks  nothing  but  a  shadow  of  who  he  once  was.  all  mirrors  in  his  room  had  been  taken  away,  looking  at  his  reflection  way  too  dangerous  for  him  to  take  on  seriously.

 "I  am  aware  I  look  rather.  .  .unpleasant  to  look  at."  so  unlike  what  most  members  of  their  family  looks  like.  targaryens  often  seem  otherworldly,  gods  among  men  but  his  looks  now  are  a  reminder  that  as  much  as  fire  is  in  their  blood,  they  are  still  just  mortal.

Baela hadn't believed what she had heard... Her grandmother, a princess, the lady of Driftmark, was locked in her room. That did not sit well with her, and even if she wasn't supposed to leave her room, nothing would stop her. There was more than one way to get around the Keep, and she was determined to get there. Changing into her riding leathers, she climbed the window ledge and looked down to see the distance. It was far, but she didn't have time to think about it as she began to climb.

She was a dragon.

Baela had been up higher when she rode Moondancer. What she would give to run to the Dragon Pit and get her dragon, but she didn't have time. She had to get to her grandmother then they could leave this hellish place. The sun was warm on her face as she scaled the Keep with no thoughts other than not to fall. The songs of the birds weren't nearly as soothing as when she was in a room.

She was a dragon.

It only took a few more peeks into the windows before she was at her grandmother's and tapping on the window to her attention. Her legs were aching when she got there, and it was hard to bend down without losing a bit of her balance. Tapping on the window again, she tried to get the woman's attention again.
