Bruce visibly cringes at the words. He doesn't mean to be so defensive and yet, without the mask, he feels barren -- too visible to the human eye. He pulls on his shirt despite the pleas to not hide because he's not sure what else to do.
"You shouldn't." He shakes his head, never looking at the other, "Battle scars aren't meant to be pretty or loved. They're ... supposed to be remembered only by the wearer as a lesson."
