Hermoine Granger, Peter Pettigrew, Uncle Vernon?
Hermione Granger: What is your favorite book, how many times have you read it, and why do you love it?
Hoo boy that's really really hard. I can narrow it down to two favorites aside from Harry Potter. "Green Angel" by Alice Hoffman and "Tithe" by Holly black. Both of these books are literally so perfect. Green Angel I've read six or seven times and found when I was a kid. I love it because it's so transcendental and it leaves a LOT of decisions up to the reader. A disaster occurs but it's not specified what kind, how or why it happened. The time period is completely ambiguous, there's no real dialogue, you have no idea where in the world it's occurring because it's such an internalized book. It's very short and it's written for kids, but it's very poetic and a lot like her other books, "Indigo" and "Aquamarine".
"Tithe" is perfect because it's kind of the opposite. I've lost track of how many times I've read it, probably twenty something by now? It's a book that takes the folkloric tradition of the British Isles and Yeats' interpretation of the fair folk and makes it grungy and elegant at the same time. The setting and characters are all very solid and most of them aren't the most likable, but the mood and feeling of this book is just. holy shit.
But also, these two are my favorites, alongside Harry Potter, because they all made me want to write. They all, in their own ways, convinced me that i should and that I can.
Peter Pettigrew: Are you a leader or a follower?
That would vastly depend on the situation. I think, though, that i'm not really either of those things. I'm not the most comfortable when people think highly of me and want to follow me. I also don't like when people expect me to follow them because most of the time I don't agree with their whateverisms or I don't want to.
If we were in an apocalypse right now, I'd be riding my necromanced skeleton dogs into the sunset and we'd be raiding Walmart. You wanna follow....ok cool fine don't get in the way.
Uncle Vernon: What is your favorite day of the week?
That's difficult. I don't really have one. But this semester i'm fond of Mondays and Tuesdays because i get to see my actual wife and my wife-without-a-tumblr. But those days also SUCK because i have classes from 10am-8pm with weird gaps in them.
Wednesdays are nice because i only have my mythology class and nothing else. so....mythology and naps. my two favorite things.
